Yep, gonna get crickets. He's smart, we are stupid. It's pretty common though.I'll take a whack at it: He's basically saying that the portion of the fan base that doesn't agree with him is stupid.

I can still hear the clank of the iron on those shots
He's a more talented Gary Ervin. That's all. There. I said it.
You know who could use a more talented Gary Ervin? A team with Tyson Carter as the only thing even slightly resembling a point guard. He's a more talented Gary Ervin. That's all. There. I said it.
Wait, you mean the 3 possessions in a row after getting up by 10 on Liberty where we jacked threes with 20 seconds left on the shot clock without ever getting the ball inside the 3 point line wasn't smart?**
Exhibit A
Why do ya’ll want to dog MSU players so bad? He actually had a pretty good game against liberty. Had some terrible turnovers , but he was finishing in the paint so much better. Y’all like to call him selfish, but I saw a lot of games this year where he was pass first. Infact, he probably should have shot more in some of those games. A lot of times he would make a great pass in the paint and our big men were simply not ready, or didn’t handle the ball. Im probably in the minority, but I would love to see him back at MSU next year.No big loss. Kid killed us several times this year. Might need to change twitter handle from HeadShot to HeadCase.
I don’t blame Lamar and I wouldn’t blame him if he never set foot in Starkville again.
Bottom line is that we will be a worse basketball team without him next year than we would be with him.
As a fan base we have the basketball IQ of a mannequin with a head injury.
I agree. You find someone looking for a tremendous opportunity to play in the SEC. You sell the opportunity to them to win a fan base at a school hungry for effort and confidence. You sell to them the opportunity to better themselves by proving people wrong by effort and saying the righ things against backlash. That makes a man and a fighterHow do you know we will be worse? College basketball has huge movement of players every year. A hole forces us to find someone.

MAYBE. But let's be real about this group of upperclassmen. They are transition guys. They were big gets coming out of the Ray era, they made us relevant again, but they were never going to take us to a final four.
Care to explain? I never see much substance in these posts preaching about how how dumb the fan base is.
See I agree for the most part. We need Lamar. Great player, 1 more year he would be the absolute best but that is with a key disclaimer that you don’t want to acknowledge. His downfall as a a point guard is he has struggled with fans questioning him. Guess what that’s what happens when people expect great things from you. From there you either rise up and prove naysayers wrong or you question yourself and try to change your game to appease the naysayers. Lamar changed mid season because he didn’t like the negativity. He went safe as a player and he became a shell of the talent he is. Love him and hope he figures it out but bottom line he never stuck to the aggressive skills that made him great. When Lamar said I’m the **** guess what he wasMy god we deserve to continue to drift along without success. The number of ******** in this thread is disappointingly high.
I am convinced most who dog on the team 1- dont watch much(any?) college basketball outside of MSU and 2- misremember the good old days of the early 00's.
The unreasonable expectations many have is laughable.
Reality check- MSU is going to have a lot of players who arent always NBA ready. This will be due to one or more deficiencies in their game. Expecting them to just change is unrealistic and sets you up for frustration.
Since 2000, so almost 20 years, we havemt exactly been rich in the PG department.
- Antonio Jackson had 1 good season.
- Zimmerman had 2 effective seasons. Bowers had 2 effective seasons. They overlapped, so 3 seasons total.
- Jamont had 1 good season at PG. He had another decent, but not good season as a PG. Its cuz he isnt actually a PG and turned it over more than Lamar ever has. So 1.5 years for him.
- Hansbrough had 1 good season...that was while Jamont was playing. So those are combined.
- Bost had 4 good seasons.
- Ready had 2 good seasons.
11 seasons with an effective PG out of 19 without Peters. And that's effective, not great, mind you.
Probably 6 great PG seasons.
We aren't a great PG school.

Lets be real if nick comes back and they put all this off the court stuff behind them, we will be fine.
But if we are being really honest, the closer we get to petty and Woodard being the vocal and example leaders on this team the better. Those guys provided the spark we were missing as freshmen. It’s sad when freshmen have to show the older players how to play with some real effort and hustle.
