Do you think the announcer realizes Eberlein wins practically every year when he talks about how improbable their win is?

Their business is based in Kentucky. Former sponsor of La Familia then yanks sponsorship in favor of an out of state team that beats us in the title game. Such blasphemy!

I always felt free throw shooting during the Calipari era was not good. For the life of me I cannot understand how athletes of their caliber had issues with free throws. Even in high school we marginal at best players were expected to make 70%. I played with a guard who had killer jump shot but couldn’t shoot free throws. Finally, he started standing behind the line but still in the circle and would shoot a jump shot. His percentage went way up.

Andrew’s gotta be one of the most overrated players to play for UK. Couldn’t hit water if he fell outta boat lol.
Nobody who took us to two final fours is over rated. Get out of here. At least he played and they did very well. We just need a couple of our best players who aren’t pros anymore to play and we easily win this thing.

The thing with free throws is these guys will probably practice them and make them but once the they are in a game situations it’s more pressure and fatigue sets in also .

Watched Hal Greer do that as a very young fan.
I tried it and my coach asked me what the hell was I doing

Like who are you thinking of?

I doubt any of our former players who are fully retired now are still fit and athletic enough to make much difference. Bledsoe gave it a shot a couple years ago and it did not go that well for him. And Liggins looked hopeless when I saw him in this year’s games. The aging process is a mean bit*h.

Lamar Butler, Jackson Robinson, Almonor, Carr, Marcus Lee playing, Sestina, Montgomery. Get some guards in like TyTy Washington is likely in his last year in the league barring a miracle. Kellen Grady, Keion Brooks, Reid Travis. Then we have four spots for non Alumni. Go out and get a player like Kanter from last year. Plenty who know we almost won now. A few younger additions and front court pieces could make us champs.

I saw in another post that Goodwin went 5 for 16 while wearing blue & white today😬 Some things don’t change.

Did you know the 19-‘20 team shot almost 80% from the line? And the ‘24 team shot 76%?

Those were the two best under Cal.

Yeah we sure didn’t need:
-Andrew’s 20 points against undefeated Wichita State in a 2 point win in 2014.
-14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists against UL in the Sweet 16.
-8 points and 6 assists against Michigan (team had 8 assists for the game) in the Elite 8.
-2nd leading scorer with 13 against West Virginia in the 2015 Sweet 16 (blowout yeah it wouldn’t have changed the game, but he played well)
-His game winning free throws against Notre Dame in the 2015 Elite 8.

He was an integral part of those two seasons and the postseason runs. This is the only place that will talk about how they want final fours and championships then run down the starting point guard who had the keys to the team when they went to two final fours in back to back years. I really don’t get it.

Andrew’s improvement defensively had a lot to do with why that 2015 defense was so elite. In the 2014 year, he got beat off the dribble regularly, but the point of attack was locked down in 2015 thanks to him.
