Lady Soccer Dawgs vs Sun Devils Match

Went to my 1st match tonight and I came away surprised. TOUGH loss for the girls. They played their hearts out but with 1:33 left in the match ASU scored a goal shot lower right corner on a pass from the right side to the center of the box. Great to see the support the girls got tonight from the students and the locals both young and old. It's not the Premier League or MLS or Women's MLS (If there's even such a league) but the girls moved the ball MUCH better than I figured they would and that's what I think I like most about the game. We had several shots on goal but just couldn't convert. If you've not been out to a match, maybe check one out this season.

I saw KK Pavatt play as a little kid. She carried her small town team at 9-10 years old and was recruited by the all the bigger clubs near and around Little Rock/Conway. I also saw a number of current OM players play club soccer from a young age up to high school.

The kids that are good enough athletes to make the top teams for these soccer clubs, are usually coached by guys or gals with excellent credentials. They are taught ball skills and fundamentals at a young age. Then by the time they get to high school age, if they are on a top club team, they are coached by college coaches. So they are taught tactics and much more at the high school level......IF they are on a top club team...which all these girls were.

I see KK hasn't played this season so far after logging a lot of PT last year. Is she hurt? Thanks.

Watched it on TV last night. Kinda heart breaking. When our player fell down in the box, I was like uh-oh because I knew it was coming.

Both teams had so many opportunities throughout the game, I just knew it was going to come down to 1 wrong/right move.


The women's version of MLS is called NWSL.

I don't know Pavatt's status or any one on the team but did meet Rylie Combs' parents in Mugshots after Thursday's match. Had a nice conversation with them....good folks.
