This kid looks fast, physical and versatile. He can play! This is a perfect example of Rhule & company getting in on a really good football player while other schools waited because they were waiting on someone ahead of him on their list to make a decision. I love it.

Wow. Rhule is definitely proving all the people wrong who said you have to play in Texas to recruit Texas. Turns out it's actually about relationships.

I am one of those people. But in my defense, I've also always said recruiting is about relationships and having contacts and the previous staffs had nobody who could effectively recruit Texas from what I remember.

Those weren't committable offers lol....no recruit with legit offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, and Tennessee, would have a Top 4 of Arizona State, Baylor, Nebraska, and Ole Miss...as this article points out: https://www.cornnation.com/2023/6/2...ommits-to-nebraska-had-30-offers-huskers-news.
But that doesn't mean that he's not good enough to play there. It's just that he may be Plan B or C. Regardless, this kid is someone we should be excited about.

Side note: I think it's lazy that the Husker beat reporters and the recruiting services just throw out an offer list so often when these stories come out. Why not tell us who is actively going after a kid? Who did the kid pick NU over?

Regardless, hopefully Barthel can develop him into a great back
Unless I’m wrong, DK didn’t have a commitable offer either, until DR committed to Georgia. Does that mean DK isn’t very good?

I’m glad that our plan B worked out.

From Luke Mullin's story in the LJS:
Other key offers: Arizona State, Baylor, Miami, Mississippi, TCU.

From Sam McKewon's story in the OWH:
NU beat out several Big 12 and SEC schools – including Baylor, TCU and Ole Miss – for Lacy, one of the top runners in Texas.

Were they "lazy"?

RBs in the NFL
Arizona St: 3
Baylor: 2
Ole Miss: 3
Miami: 2
TCU: 2
Nebraska: 1

Alabama: 6
Michigan: 2
Tennessee: 3
Ohio St: 2

Outside of Alabama, beating out ASU, TCU, Ole Miss, Baylor & Miami is just fine.
