We need to win and provide respectable NIL offers. That’s all we can expect. If we need to get into bidding wars For some kid, then no. I don’t mind a kid looking to make some good money while he plays a college game, but if that’s THE main drive, homie don’t play and he can go f himself.

Also, don’t commit when you don’t have the stones to stick to it.
Great comment, if we get to a bowl game with a winning record this shouldn’t be a big issue. But, we need to get a legit NIL program, one that is in line with some top tier schools. Here’s a question for you, would you rather be spending 500 million on a stadium upgrade or put that money into football NIL? Personally I go with NIL.

No reason at all..

This would involve the boosters saying to the university nope, our money is going elsewhere. No?

We'll need to overpay for a bit until we start winning, if we don't get these guys then the W's won't come either. I'd definitely rather have 500 million in NIL than stadium upgrades, though. No one cares about facilities anymore.

Nobody wants to play behind Raiola’s group of misfits. Go to Bama and be a draft pick. Even if your name is Eddie Lacy.

Maybe a bit pie-in-the-sky here but if Sam Pittman gets fired at Arkansas, you throw the farm at him for OL coach and really get this offense rolling. The day one difference a position coach can make is playing out before our eyes.
Go to Bama and ride the pine then transfer for many of their RB recruits. People need to stop trashing our line. Recruits and their families do in fact read this board. The O line isn’t our main problem on offense but I’m not going to re-open that can of crap.

Not sure of the timing but Barthel started following this Northwestern commit:

Our line play is poor at best and our qb play is mediocre with little hope for improvement as it stands. He would have played or battled for immediate playing time but if a better offer with a serviceable line comes from a team I get it.

I still think our NIL should be transparent with basically a "help wanted page" and with qualifcations for each position they are looking for.

Height or weight, number of sacks or starts, TD passes, whatever.

Be open, honest, transparent and put starting wage on their too

I knew this was going to happen as soon as he committed and got the star bump. He was very underrated...

Build the O-line up and you can put anyone back there.

Yeah was definitely expecting it sooner or later. I'm sure we will find another RB. But will he be AS good? I honestly doubt it. That kid was really good. Who knows though...

BTW..do you know who number 33 is on the GBRewind video? He looked really good running the ball. Or maybe it was 23 😆.

I like the way the Johnson kid is playing. But they need another kid at least to replace Grant. I would think a young back would see that a lot of carries are going to be available for RB1 at NU.

Dear Kewan:

I have never supported you and I 100% do not care where you end up or what you do and with that being said punctuation is your friend and your battery is low.
Can you be more specific about the punctuation I didn’t see anything odd about the punctuation perhaps you can clarify thanks

They watch the games much more than they read the board

Anyone with eyes can see the OL stinks

Stats are also public info - would you like those to be redacted, as well?

Anyone who would want a frost holdover with zero recruiting experience retained is clueless. In other words, par for the course.

I hope the recruits who read this board listen to what our coaches have to say and not what some rando fan will say on here.

And if a recruit takes this board that serious where it'll affect their school decision, do we really want them?

I’m sure people are mocking you but you are correct. The line play (minus penalties) is playing better than previous years. Are they great? Well no. But better than before

Hi, coach!
Twitter, instagram, TikTok
They check all that stuff.

Message boards? I would be shocked unless someone told them about something specific that was posted about them.

Hell, most of these players don't even watch games like we do. When I was in HS i hardly ever watched games, I was out doing stuff.

I don't see anyone on this thread complaining about Barthel. Coming in he was billed as an ace recruiter. And I never really understand his rhyme or reason for switching out a back the minute he gets a hot hand. So we attribute losing Lacy to NIL and Raiola, etc. but don't think the running back coach has anything to do with it? In my way of thinking he is the most unremarkable coach on Rhule's staff.

Just curious - why little hope for improvement?

Dudes just getting higher money offers somewhere else. Cant blame the guy, right? Thanks 2023

Ahhh…the memories of hearing people talk about how Nebraska would be a top 5 player in NIL. Same Nebraska as the past two decades - big talk, big hopes, big embarrassments.

Between the dumpster fire o-line and baffling use of our RB's, I can't find any fault in his decision.

Here is an idea…how about Nebraska sign and develop their own running back like they used to.
Times have changed and parity hurt Neb more than any school. Those days are long gone and not coming back. What you see is what you should get used to.

I agree, but you'd probably have to get rid of DR too for that to happen.
