Well he will be long gone by the time you would be picking your 4th round pick. The biggest concern I had was his weight, He didn't look to be more than 180 lbs when side by side with other QBs. But at 207, he weighed more than Russell Wilson did at the combine. He will get bigger in the next couple of years.

With this news, I am on the opposite side of the argument now, I think he is going to be successful in the league.

Let's say kyler goes 20th. The 20th pick in last year's draft signed a 4 year contract for 11.7 million with a 6.6 mil signing bonus. All base money is guaranteed. Add in endorsement money and he is way ahead financially in the NFL.

And he will get way more endorsement cash by being in the NFL than he will baseball...most baseball players are lucky if they get a gig doing ads for a local car dealership.

As a Broncos fan If I’m John Elway, I’m doing everything I can to move up and get him...will be interesting to see what Arizona & Klings do with the first pick though

I doubted Russell Wilson and was proven wrong. Mahomes is tearing it up. At this point I wouldn't be shocked if NFL teams start scouring college baseball for players who can run fast AF but won't ever play MLB, pick them up as free agents, pay them league minimum, and see if they can't teach them how to be quarterbacks.

Other NFL QBs drafted to play MLB: Tom Brady, John Elway, Dan Marino, Troy Aikman, Brandon Weeden, Michael Vick, Colin Kaepernick...

Give him a chance to play QB, if he is willing to play the slot, he's worth a 1st round pick with that speed and elusiveness.

Nonsense. The league has been riddled with first round busts that are just as athletic and many more so that actually that played the slot in college. Complete waste of a first round pick if he cant make it as a qb.

The NFL front offices are filled with guys who know QBs (and those who think they do). Two of the best are Doug Pederson and Andy Reid. They already bagged their franchise QBs. We'll see what the rest of the league thinks.

10 of 21 GM’s polled said they would take Murray as the top quarterback in the draft. 10 more said they would take Haskins from Ohio State and one said Lock from Missouri.

Not necessarily directed at you, but there is a reason we are talking about this on a message board and not GMs as a career.

Plus it’s easier to say someone will be a bust, the odds are in your favor. You only have 32 starting QBs in the league, more will not succeed than do.

Exactly. And I don't think Doug Pederson or Andy Reid are posting on here.

Well, Tyrod Taylor made it to the starting level in the NFL, and he's not a whole lot bigger than Murray. Guess we'll have to see where the chips fall for him the next few years. Whether he makes it or not, he'll still cash some nice checks.

I'm trying to understand this kid's objective. If he runs 4.3, run it.

I don't think the Tyreek Hill conversion option is what he will do?

A lot of college Qbs won't make the position change, for some reason.

He's even a bigger wildcard at QB now, IMO, and I think he'd be a game-breaking NFL slot. That's why I'd draft him, to be honest. The kid is electric in space.

I remember hearing that when Leonard Fournette was at the combine he mentioned that he gained I think 13 lbs of water weight because he was expected to be a big power back. He weighed in at 240lbs and then a couple weeks later was back down to 228.

I'm curious if Kyler Murray is really 207lbs or if in a few weeks he will be back under 200lbs. He has always looked smaller then every other QB I have seen. It's shocking to hear the Cardinals are probably going to draft him no.1 after just trading up to no.10 last year to get Josh Rosen.

He put up great stats in a league not known for playing defense. Will be interesting to see how he adjusts to the NFL.

His mental makeup is as important as anything and we can’t know that. He’s played well in big games and has elite skills you can’t teach. I haven’t done enough research to know if throws into tight windows or if he’s always reviewing film, etc. I thought baker would be good because he thinks he’s the best player on the field every game and fears nothing paired with his obvious talent. He was also known for studying all the time unlike a similar player like Manziel. I don’t know what Kyler is like and I don’t get paid to know that. If he has the same personality I would have no issue drafting him first overall because he has elite physical gifts.

An he plays way less games 20 counting pre season in NFL and over 190 in baseball counting pre season ..... he is smart to pick football - although he could play baseball until his mid to late 30's if he stays in shape and makes it into the bigs .....

One of the sports radio shows had a guy on who talked about getting inverted and stretching out his vertebrae before the combine or height measurement.

He was a center, like 5-11 or so, stretched-out to 6'1ish for the combine.

Pretty hilarious true story.

Long-story "short" Murray isn't 5'10

Really odd question, but can a player add an inch of sole to their shoes to get a tad bit more height? I think the height issue is overrated and how well a player can deliver all the throws and make quick, heady decisions is far more important.

I remember a Trev Alberts combine prep story where he would go tanning late at night to look more attractive to the scouts rather than pasty white.

This center literally hung himself like Batman upside down and grew 2 inches for the combine, it was on 640am FOX talk out here in WPB, I **** you not. It's real according to this center from Penn State I can't remember his name.

I hope the Cardinals take him #1 if for no other reason than they went all in on a different idea. Hiring Kingsbury and keeping Rosen feels like a cop-out. Go all out with the unexpected and take Murray, don't be cowards.

Kyler probably added at least four pounds just from drinking water right before the weigh in. That's common. I bet he plays at 190 next fall.

If I was a GM, I would take Murray as my first pick, If I needed a quarterback.

If I was Murray and guaranteed first round NFL money, I would be a football player.
