I feel bad for this kid. He has a $5 million contract to play baseball for the As, could be a first round draft pick in the NFL, or could go back and compete for another shot at a championship and Heisman at OU.

Personally, I think he really is too small to have a long NFL career, but going to the As isn't exactly like playing for the Yankees or Cubs. Plus you can get stuck in the minors for several years and lose your chance at football if it doesn't work out. Going back to OU raises the risk of injury and losing everything.

I think he goes football— just can’t imagine him toiling in the minors for years.

I don’t feel bad for the kid.

That said, he appears to have a way better career in baseball than football. And no one is trying to hit you (mostly) in baseball.

Coming back for a final season at OU would be a 180 degree change from what everyone said in the preseason.

Funny how things can change.

Baseball. Look at Bubba Starling, he's made like $10 million even though he hasn't even made it to the big leagues.

He'll be a millionaire either way. Do what you love. How many of us wish we had that choice?

He's that tall? He would be an awesome slot receiver. A frickin great slot receiver.
Yeah. He is 5’9. He will play baseball.

He is listed at 5’11. Tua is listed at 6’1. Some have said Tua is closer to 6’0. So why does Tua look 5 inches taller?

I don't think he's 69". He is shorter than that. I don't care what he plays for a career. I only watch Nebraska play baseball.

If he is good enough to make a MLB roster there shouldn't even be a question. Much more earning potential with much less risk.

If nothing else...dude, you signed a contract and agreed with the team that offered you a contract and made you a top 10 pick that you would play 1 year of college football and go to them after. Stick to your word. You're an adult.

The 'I feel bad for him' comment was sarcasm. Kind of like choosing between 3 supermodel girlfriends for a date. Still must be a tough decision.

Go harder. This post is pillowy soft.

The CUBS? You must be a total **it bird lewzer living in your disabled aunts basement.
Most MLB players would prefer to play in a packed Wrigley every day instead of a derelict stadium in Oakland. Hell, Harper named his dog Wrigley.

5’9 QB?

Have you even watched him?
He has been awesome at the highest level- Allen in high school (6A- largest in Texas, three state championships, Gatorade National POY as senior), Oklahoma- Heisman. The kid is a player, period. Give me him all day and you can have your big stiff QB

I would lean toward baseball since the average career is longer and he would very likely have a better quality of life after his career is over. I think he already signed to play baseball so my guess is he must love that sport. Plus, he's probably a better prospect in baseball being a top 10 draft pick and all. That said, with NFL teams moving toward more spread concepts, a little guy like Murray has as good a shot as ever at becoming an NFL starter. Could he be the next Russell Wilson? Maybe, but then again Wilson probably would not even be in the NFL if he would have hit worth a darn in the minors.

He should honor his commitment to the A's they allowed him to play one football season and Murray had a great one. NFL would break him in half when they catch him see Allen Hurns' ankle for example.

He'd have a better opportunity to succeed more in football and play right away compared to baseball. Tougher to make the big leagues in baseball than it is to make an NFL roster, IMO.

Baseball. Less likely of career ending injury and longer career.

Talk to buba starling. Become a millionaire for playing minor league ball

I think Murray is an Eric crouch type of QB. Super fast. Great college QB which doesn't translate to the pros. Go baseball

I don't think he'll succeed at the highest level (NFL) as an elusive QB. His playing days would be very short. Drew Bree isn't very big, but he is a pure passing QB and his body hasn't taken the beating Kyler would as a runner

Go baseball. More money and better health. Easy decision

Baseball seems like an easy choice if he wants his brain to function normally when hes 60.

Dont know if it’s a certainty about the money part- being a first or second rounder would be for about the same payday. And its not a certainty he’ll be a major leaguer. Remember Bubba Starling?
