Lol, yeah. I'm sure Haason Reddick, Dion Dawkins, PJ Walker and Jahad Thomas really resented not being able to play for their state university

...well, someone had to win C-USA version 3.67 and then lose to the 10th place ACC team in the same bowl game that the team went to when they finished 3rd/4th in the MAC 7 years ago.

How's that stadium coming along?

I think the point is that when you can get a good running back, you take him, so the idea that Dobbins' offer wasn't commitable is silly. Pacheco looks very good, but so did Savon Huggins. You never know, which is why you stockpile them when you can. If you don't, you're not recruiting the right way.

I'm sure Dobbins told Ash he appreciated his interest.

Take them when you can, yes. But all indications point to a smaller recruiting class this year. So there are only so many RBs to be taken. If that's the case, you can't stockpile and go with the best ones you can get.

I have a gut feeling that as HS seniors, each one of them were disappointed that Rutgers as well as any other BCS/P5 school was not an option and that they had to settle for Temple. It worked out well for them but 100% sure about my first statement.

Walker did settle for Temple. He would have been an RU commit but the staff would not promise him he could play QB.

Fun stat: Temple is 5-11 vs Rutgers in conference play. Another fun stat: In the 2 years Temple played in an AQ conference this decade, they went 6-17 and 0-2 vs Rutgers.

I'll be glad when RU fans don't think Temple is worth bashing and just ignores that program.
Temple is a good mid major program that will get their share of 3* recruits that don't wait to be part of building a P-5 program into a winner and even an occasional 4* every once in awhile.
But to worry about who Temple gets shouldn't be something fans of a program in a P-5 conference does, worrying about how the recruits Rutgers gets stack up to their B1G opponents should be what concerns RU fans is the way I see it.

If they go to Temple it isn't because they don't want to wait for a P5 build. They either want to play right away in an easier conference or don't want to wait for a commitable offer

Well, they're the ones on our board, not the other way around.

Your football and basketball teams have combined for 10 conference wins in three seasons in the Big Ten.

Yeah, good thing for us that college sports will actually continue beyond last year. Also, in your 2 years in an AQ league this decade, Temple football won 3 conference games, or as many as we did in our first season in the B1G when we won the Lambert Trophy, which Temple has never won. What do you think will happen first- commercial flights to space or Temple's Done Deal Stadium?

Stadium.

Take a moment to recognize the fact that you brushed off Rutgers' performance from last year a few posts after you cited Temple's record in the 90's and 00's as evidence of your alleged superiority.

Take a moment to recognize that you're on the 'Rutgers Football' message board and continue to stay here. I think that says more than anything.

...and the records I cited were largely TU's head-to-head vs. Rutgers when we were in the same league. We're now in 2 different leagues, play totally different teams, etc. It's apples/ oranges.
