The only positive I take from this is that our L to Kansas is weighted more positive for us in the eyes of the tournament committee. If presses worked all the time, everyone would run one. West Virginia has to have the press work because it’s both their best defense and only form of offense. They are atrocious in the half court on both ends. The calls generally go their way at home and that combined with their pressure make it a tough place to win. Ku had lost 4 in a row there.

I watched that game and the way Kansas defensed and scrapped the last 10 min is exactly what cal wants out of our guys.
Wvu played poorly also, but Kansas took advantage of it.

People here underestimate everything about our team. I especially love the "our half court offense is terrible" posts. UK is shooting over 50% so far in SEC play. This is one of Cal's better offensive teams.

Kansas played a zone defense most of the second half which got WVU jacking up a lot of bad threes. They are NOT a good outside shooting team and UK can do exactly the same thing to them.

I did not see Kansas do a thing in that second half that UK can't do to WVU.

That is definitely true but during Kansas's run, they were permitted to be the more physical team and got by with several fouls that should have been freethrows for WVU. Was it the reason that WVU lost, absolutely not. They wilted under the pressure and to KU's physical play in the last 10 minutes of that game and made no adjustments.

Not really. Ranked 39th on Kenpom. That is not the be all and end all, but it's not THAT far off. Not really even close one of Cal's better offensive teams.
