Kind of a season motivational game for both teams.

KU - needs the W to stop the tail spin of of L’s and to pump confidence back in the team.

UK - needs the W to continue to pump confidence in the team, staff, media and fans.
Also to help to solidify our way into the tournament and not be a bubble team.
A W here would boost this team’s confidence a TON….

Go CAT!!!!

Haven’t seen line anywhere as of yet. I thought UK would be favored as well. @JFCats22 where are you seeing this?

Odds: DraftKings Sportsbook has not released the game odds. This is a matchup where computer models differ greatly. ESPN’s matchup predictor gives Kentucky a fair chance to win at 65.4 percent, but Bart Torvik has it at 43%, while KenPom is at 52%.

Predictions: Bart Torvik picks the Wildcats to lose in a nail-biter, 71-69. KenPom has it as a 71-70 victory, Kentucky!

both teams are desperate, we’re just getting better results lately. feels like a “peak too early game” to me, or maybe it could be a “need to win a couple sect games now” result. only because the committee will probably put lots of teams with 9-10 losses as 6-9 seeds but if it’s uk it’s last 4 out.

that and our knowing we should probably win, if recent success mean anything makes it easy, as usual, to assume otherwise, but this game definitely means more for uk. a quality ooc win is all an sec team finishing in the top 6-8 should need. but we have to assume with 9-10 losses we probably would need a good showing in the sect.

one game at a time and cal wouldn’t admit it, but this is a biggie. we got to show our hats nationally at the very least from time to time.

Power rankings say KU is horrible. If Cal can’t even get a Quad 6 win at home we should fire his sorry ***!

I hope we win this game Sat. but I just don't know if our offense is that great yet. I know we looked good at Vandy but that was Vandy and this Kansas team is a lot better. If our offense takes it up another level we can win this game but it seems to me the offense is just not peaking yet but I hope it does Sat.

Agreed RM .. I think the crowd makes the difference in this one , roaring behind our guys to a Ky win . After the battles we have won -- overcoming a disastrous loss to SC , and a couple other other very bad ones , this team has righted the course .. but it could all be for naught if we dont start winning big games ( yes I recall UT ). I mean winning more than 2-3 big games outta 10 . Huge huge game tomorrow pm !

They will have a high intensity level since they have their backs to the wall like we did before Tenneessee.

I'd argue that our guys feel like they still have their backs against the wall.

Match their intensity, win. Don't match it, we lose.

Desperation sometimes leads to frantic mistakes and rushing (or slowing down too much). I'd wager desperation isn't going to play into KU's favor coming to Rupp. Now if they were desperate and we were going to Lawrence, I'd be a little worried.

I just want a competitive game tomorrow night. If we lose, I don't want it to be because of missing FTs, crappy lineup swaps, or long droughts. Play a fun, competitive game. If KU is hitting shots but we're playing good D, and they still win, then fine. Just compete, keep the refs out of the mix, play D, hit shots, and we'll see where it lands.

(of course, I'm rooting for a UK blowout, but need to be realistic!)

We need Reeves or Toppin to get 15 pts

Defend Wilson and Grady D well and we should come out with the W. If either gets consistent open looks, then we are in trouble

I’m interested to see if we get in the 80s or not

If the Rupp crowd is not rowdy tomorrow, then I don’t know what will get them rowdy

Maybe this will motivate the guys - underdogs, no respect, KU won the NCAA last year, etc…lots of elements that the coaches can use.

Just come out PREPARED and ready from tip off because KU is a team that you cannot give a ten point lead to and expect to come back from.

I think we should wait until the spread actually comes out. It very well may be KU -2.5, but that doesn't seem right to me.

But I would like to know is who in the hell is betting against kentucky? Because the only reason that point spreads that way is cuz there's some real ******* money on Kansas.

That's what causes a point spread. Money being bet. We got a lot of Kentucky fans betting against the team is my hunch.


I don't like this point spread not one damn bit at this point. Very concerning. We should have been at least 3-point favorite....

Vegas’ line usually mirrors Kenpom (+/-) 1. My bet is it come out a pickem or UK -1.5
