It’s bad on every level now man. I ref high school, and way to many older refs try to insert themselves into games. I take the approach of let them play unless it’s obviously a foul

I also notice that in the college game especially now the amount of walks these players get away with is crazy. In high school I call it a lot, that the call I make more than anything because these players don’t establish there pivot foot or take off before dribbling now

Yep, and they have their dudes they hate. Cal was one of them. What I have always had trouble getting is K would ***** out a ref and still get calls. Self does it too.

Like I said, he's a good player. He's in know way worthy of the kind of hype he's received:
1. He's not a good shooter
2. He's not a great ball handler
3. He has barely above average athleticism.

**I honestly do not see him being a great NBA player. I my be wrong but I just do not see it. I see a kid who can be a good college player & a small role NBA player.

I’d almost rather watch a pickup style self officiated game than an over ref’d game.

Have 1 on court ref to look at the monitor for any pickup style disagreements at key times… hate freethrow competitions

Our job is to assist the game flow and not drive it. Let the players decide the game and only call the obvious calls
