LSU only has like 35 scholarship players available. No QB’s, no kicker, etc. Being coached by a staff full of GA’s and analysts. Helen Keller could have seen this coming.
Yeah I just seen that, I applaud them for showing up, can you imagine us in this situation?

exactly. kudos to LSU for not cancelling, honestly.

LSU will have top-10 odds to make the playoff next year, alongside at least 3 other SEC teams.

ohiost once again will be the B1G's only hope. I'm sure our resident rodent & other B1G butt-sniffers like OP will remind us all about the B1G's bowl record (minus the context, of course) in comparison to the SEC the entire offseason, championing (I use that word very ironically) the conference as a clear 2nd best in the country.

Big 12 > B1G, too.

oh, and Big 12 > B1G, too.
Don’t forget about Iowa. They were ranked second for a week this past season.

Minnesota has won 5 straight Bowl games, going back to the 2016 Holiday Bowl....in which we had 10 players suspended. But we still won. We beat Mike Leach's Washington State, which was 7-2 in the Pac-12.

Almighty SEC teams shouldn’t need excuses.

of course! after beating the #4 team in the country! (PSU, ended 7-6 (LOL))!

B1G fan worships at the altar of the AP Poll
LSU was #11 in the preseason AP poll. To go along with #7 Texas A&M and #17 Florida. What a joke that turned out to be.

And king kong says the SEC is so superior that the games don't even need to be played.

It's simply to show that not every team falls apart as soon as some adversity hits. But this SEC excuse-making was very predictable.

You are comparing Minnesota being out 10 players to what LSU is facing? Even by your standards that’s ridiculous. And we all know PJ is the freaking king of excuse making. That guy would have been making so many excuses and playing his little violin the last month, his boat rowing cult members would have built him a state just for showing up.

Helen Keller reference reminds me when I first took my wife on a date 50 years ago …. HK jokes were the rage… I told her two, she laughed…. And THEN told me “ I’m related to HK”….. true story and yes she was…🤭😂

LSU lost a few players to normal things, like all teams do. So they basically quit, just like Texas A&M. Because they're afraid they'll lose. They made sure they have a great excuse....a bunch of sudden Covid, academic, and other suspensions.

They couldn't actually quit though...or the SEC would be labeled as quitters.

28 scholarship players to be exact. Their O line and RB still look legit but their starting QB is a WR who was recruited as a DB. The guy was a high school QB and was their scout team QB during their national title run. Helluva an athlete. With all of the defections and opt outs, their WRs still look legit too. The problem were the holes on their defense and probably a lack of game prep/coaching. HUGE kudos to LSU for playing the game to give me some football to watch last night.

At least they tried unlike the cowards at UCLA that ran away and hid with still 70+ players available to play.

You actually believe they suddenly had all of those Covids and suspensions??
The semester ended in December. They had multiple guys not make it academically and they had a bunch of opt outs for the draft on top of the transfer portal guys. So yes, I believe completely that they had that many guys out. One of the reasons Orgeron was canned was what was going on with discipline and player academic problems at LSU. What kind of person is up at 7 am posting on another team's message board thumping their chest about.....the Gophers?

Man I couldn't help but root for LSU last night. I kept hoping that QB would torch KSU's defense. That guy is a great athlete who looked to me like he would be a good fit in a run based spread option. He threw a few nice balls for a guy who hasn't played QB in college before.

It was ridiculous playing this game after January 1st especially if the semester ended in December..

Virtually everybody's semester ended before bowl games. You might remember a safety at Nebraska who didn't play in our bowl game because he flunked the few classes he was registered for. Player discipline and academic performance was just one of Orgeron's problems at LSU. I'm a little surprised that there were that many guys who were ineligible, but no doubt we have a few every year who have to fix their academics over the summer in order to play in the fall. I really haven't seen the breakdown on how many guys were out for LSU and for what reasons. The obvious killer was not having a QB and it was pretty clear that they were missing starters from their back 7 on defense.

Couldn’t ESPN find a spot for this game to be played before New Years Eve?

I enjoyed it last night. We've always had games after New Year's Eve on like the 2nd and 3rd. The NFL pretty much plugged any slots from New Year's Day on. Hell I would watch spring practice scrimmages every weekend if I could though.

Do you realize how potted-plant stupid you look when you bag on the SEC, while also climaxing every time you bring up Minnesota beating Auburn in a bowl game?

B1G and ACC were the only conferences to end up with losing records vs the SEC in bowls. makes perfect sense to me, given those are among the weakest leagues in P5.

PAC 12 never played one game against the SEC… Can’t make that assumption…
