I hope he is right but after 20 years of the off season hype, I am ready for them to prove it to me.

9 to 10 wins would do that for me.
Totally agree, but it is still nice to hear this. But yes, don’t just talk about it in the summer. Bring it in the fall as well.

Meh... I think Nebraska's secondary is going to be pretty damn good. Off season hype does get a little nauseating, but when you consider the amount of talent they have in the position grouping, its reasonable to believe they are "having their way" in 7 on 7.

I like the experience we will have the next 2 years.

4 out 5 should be back next year as well.

I also think playing against each other is a lot different than playing another team. There was a bit of confidence and hype coming from the players last year too. Then when it came to playing other teams the melted down. I will say we are drawing much more national media/ expert attention this year combined with the extra player confidence. Where last year the media didn't care about us. But you are right, there comes a point where talk is just talk. It has to be proven on the field.

It may depend on who they are going against in the 7 on 7 drills. If they're having their way against our first team receivers, that may not be good, lol.

I understand the feeling of need to see it to believe it. I quit jumping on the hype wagon some years ago, however now I am officially back on. This just feels different to me, the teams in the past took on their coaches personality. Bo Pelini had undisciplined teams and it showed, Rileys teams were just weak physically and mentally. This is now the Frost era, the guy just oozes confidence and swagger, his teams will be the same way.

Couple all that with an influx of talent, a top flight QB and the easiest schedule we have had in years. Even easier than 2016 and that weak team won 9 games and I am expecting a big season this year

DBacks that play with confidence, even if they aren't all the way there yet, are better than those that play timid. Nothing wrong with a little fake it til you make it. Fisher is talking up the new guys, so there will be some competition come fall.
I think the front seven will play the run better than last year. If the Dbacks can win just a few more third and pass downs, we should be in all of the games we play this fall.

Seriously, what kind of life do you have that you search old threads to simply post a ‘lol’?

I feel sorry for you...
He forgets that we lost our #1 safety early on. That was HUGE. He could have been a a difference maker for us this year.

What’s the point of this? Seriously, this is pointless.
Honestly, I don’t have a problem with it. Talk is cheap as bomber89 rightly pointed out after the post back in July. We had a slug of these quotes last year.

What is he supposed to say? How about “we are are working our tails off to be the best we can be”. Leave out the BS “next level” talk. Let your playing do the talking.

Unfortunately, the playing is doing the talking right now and it is nothing to brag about.

Hindsight is 20/20. If what is said in summer posts gets ridiculed after the fact on a regular basis people will quit posting.

Maybe that’s what he wants. I think it’s a bush league move.

OP said these quotes get him through the summer. He didn’t make a huge prediction that failed miserably. To bring it up with a ‘lol’ is childish.

Sorry, looks like I misunderstood. I was talking about the player, not the poster. My problem is player and coaches making bold statements.

Fair point, players/coaches making those statements are grain of salt type statements.

The little things that help get me through July

Unfortunately there are 11 guys on a team played with pads where you have to tackle somebody to the ground. 7 on 7 might be good for exercise but does nothing for actual games.
