Do you enter the transfer portal AND set an announcement date to go back to your current school? Just doesn't make any sense.
I think we all believed that the faster this moved the better it was for us. Don't drag it out, don't visit a million places, just get on board.
I'm sure Illinois "is confident" or whatever but if what we heard from the beginning was real at all, he's a Cat.
If he's not, go ahead and put all the folks who stoked that fire on ignore forever.

He lost the AC that recruited him. He went through the draft process. Most kids just announce "I'm coming back" when they're going back to school. Why in the world even enter the transfer portal if you're 50/50 on staying home? Doesn't make sense to me.

Especially so soon. It's one thing if you visit five schools and do some soul searching and decide to run it back.
But to put your name in the portal, set a quick announcement date, and essentially change nothing and gather no new information, before just going back to school would be stupid.
The only possible explanations might be to make some kind of point or stance to Underwood or to boost his name/stock for NIL and the upcoming season.

Once he pulled out of the draft I became convinced it was UK.

A lot of those tweets are scheduled and planned a couple of weeks in advance.
Chances are there was no communication between the staff and the SID on it...I’m sure a Jersey tweet is the last thing on the staff’s mind.

Outside the obvious three--2010, 2012, 2015--I like this roster as much or better than anything Cal has assembled at UK.
Highly interesting team. With Cockburn and barring injury I think they're right there with anybody in the nation.

Assuming you've got some sort of release set up/scheduled--delaying it signals something to somebody.
Maybe Kofi didn't decide until after the numbers to tell the world he's announcing today.
