I saw that and I think that is a good thing. I'm sure Scott will find a way to use him and if I recall correctly, he likes to recruit for DONU!!

Good deal. I think the way Moos handled this, and Riley for that matter, will keep most of our recruits comfortable with our school. Frost will likely bring our class quickly off the bottom of the BIG in the next 3 weeks

I agree. I think we just might end up with a serviceable recruiting class. KJJ does not count toward this year's class, but it kind of feels like he does

Anything would be better than the Pelini "Poison the wells" exit, but Riley is a cut above when it comes to class. That's why so many more opportunities are going to open up for Riley.

Didn't Sr. bring a bunch of kids with him on unofficial visits? Can he still do that when his son is signed or would he be considered a booster?

Do we know if Frost wants him?
I thought MR and KJ Sr had an agreement to hold a spot for Jr. I assume that was endorsed by admins. Does NU honor it regardless of Frost's interest.

Would be a pretty bad look if Frost turns the kid away.

Right on cue.

On another note, I'm wondering what changed.

I'm betting that KJSr might have had a chance to watch one or two of our games this season in between "Riley got fired for no reason you're all so dumb" and "KJJ will return in January"

Great, now we got a guy to carry the donuts for the team.
Dirty job but somebody has to do it. If they had me do it, they'd be short a couple dozen by the time I got them there. We're not at a point as a program where we can turn down a kid like KJJ if he wants to come to NU. IMO, he will be good for NU and NU will be good for him.

Exactly. What this fanbase needs is to put down out of state kids that want to come participate and try and bring the program back. We don't need them.

I'm not concerned about him either way, it isn't like we have enough WR anyway. We can't even put 5 on the field at once. I just think in the grand scheme of things, thinking about him makes me yawn, so I joke :p

Yea well blame SE for that exit. If he would have handled it the way Moos handled it with MR it might have been different.

I don't know that anyone would really fault Frost if he did say to KJJ, "maybe it would be better if you found a new home." It kind of seems like the factors that caused him to "take a little time to find himself" were primarily discipline issues. Not big ones, but self discipline issues. That may be a character flaw the Frost would want to try and weed out from the team.

No chance this happens. Whether KJJ fits his scheme or not, the backlash of a program turning down a kid where a promise was made to allow him to return is not worth it.

I also think he can be a good player.

He has the tools to be a very good collegiate receiver. Plus he will be a great recruiting asset for the West Coast recruits.

I am a little worried that Key Sr and Jr with the Huskers becomes a little like the LaVar Ball mess in SoCal

I don't think anyone who made that "promise" is still employed by the University of Nebraska, whether it was Riley or Eichorst. I could be wrong on that, since he did get caught smoking hippie lettuce in the dorms maybe there is some agreement with someone in the administration who doesn't deal with the football team.

I don't think it would happen either, but I really think there would be little to no backlash if it were to happen.

I can see Frost giving him a chance in Spring Practice. I have serious doubts about him fitting into his offense. I also think it's pretty telling that no other schools tried to recruit him after he left Nebraska last summer. Keyshawn Sr is a die-hard USC guy, you would think if Jr was a great prospect, their coaches would've been all over him trying to get him to USC.

That’s my point. Even if they people who made the promise aren’t there, they were representatives for the school at the time. You have to honor their promise even if they are gone on a matter like this. Otherwise the PR backlash is too negative. This coming from a PR guy.

I don't understand why Frost would not take him back? KJJ plays a position in need. WR is looking pretty thin these days. KJJ will be here for spring ball. Kid may not be the 5 star WR many pined him out to be but he's solid and still very young. He has time to learn.

Also, this proves that Gebbia really loves this place. KJJ wants to be with his BFF and I am sure Tristan has told how much he loves Nebraska. Even if KJJ never plays a down but keeps Gebbia happy, he's worth the spot.

I know I joke a lot, but he will get a shot, we are losing DPL and possibly Morgan (we'll see). We already didn't have enough WR to play 00 or even 10 without using RB or TE to fill it out. We don't have the depth.

I know it is breaking news, but lots of kids have trouble adjusting when they go to college and from the little I read, it was a decision made by his dad, Riley and the staff, *shrug*, to have him take a break and get his sh-- together.

As my late, great grandma used to say, "he is husky". He is also young and can get fit if he is committed. If his head is in the right place now, then welcome aboard.

Sorry, but KJJ will hardly move the needle on public opinion whether we allow him back or not. Kid had problems here and withdrew from school. If he has figured things out and wants to come back, great. All for it. Absent serious criminal or morally corrupt actions, I am all for a second chance - particularly given that he clearly wasn't mature enough to handle the transition when he should have still been in highschool having fun and enjoying the last few months of being a child, going to prom, etc. But, I am only for it if the new coaches agree. They shouldn't have any kid forced on them, and I will bet you dollars to donuts that other than a brief mention here or there no one nationally will honestly care if they tell KJJ to look elsewhere. Happens all the time at too many colleges for anyone to be able to honestly make a stink about it or to make it an effective negative recruiting issue.

OK so we're making decisions for our coaching staff that isn't even here yet? LOL! He'll be here if Frost wants him here. If not, he'll find a place somewhere.

Or a great statement.
I am 99 percent certain Tom Osborne would keep the kid and help him through football. Are you saying Frost would not do as his mentor did so many times?
Hmm. Seems as though the fanbase has forgotten what the program is supposedly built on.
