Was born in Lincoln…why hasn’t he been a candidate for the head coaching job in the last 12 years? Genuinely curious… he’d be a splash hire

Have you watched the reality show that his life has been? He seems to have grown up during or since his time at Bama but damn he made some headlines. I’m happy that he seems to have gotten his act together.

I love his wide splits offense. They missed having Judkins and Tre Harris being injured hurt them because they had a talented roster this year.

When they peaked as a unit they were a damn good team.

He would be an AMAZING hire...sadly more Husker fans could not hand the fact that he talks.

The best Kiffin has ever been is when he worked for a leader. I don’t think he will ever develop a championship program.

Lane was 2 when he left Lincoln. Monte was already DC under Devaney and got passed over for TO as HC. Monte invented Tampa 2, TO won 3 titles.

I don't think the timing has been right. We either had a "better hire" LOL or he had a better gig. He seems more of a fit for the south anyway. I don't ever want to see a visor on the sidelines at Memorial.

In 13 seasons including stints at USC, Tennessee and Ole Miss his teams have finished ranked 3 times.

Seriously.

With NIL evening the playing field, Ole Miss and their long history of bag men just got further away from winning a Natty.

Can we stop fantasizing about a guy that went 7-6 at Tennessee and was fired from USC? He was pissing diapers when he was last living in Nebraska.

I don't know that OP was necessarily fantasizing about Kiffin. He said he'd be a splash hire and, like it or not, a Kiffin hire at Nebraska make a splash - whatever that means. I agree his reputation is better than his actual performance.

Crazy that Nebraska hasn't finished a season ranked in the coaches or AP polls since '13.

I think Oswald shot Kennedy too.🤣 BTW the OP has less than 10 posts in 2 1/2 years. Hint: He ain’t a Husker fan

"Can we stop fantasizing about a guy that went 7-6 at Tennessee and was fired from USC? "

He always came across as a weasel to me. He left Tennessee in the dead of the night after one season there. He needles other coaches online. He blamed his QB yesterday for throwing a late game TD bomb in a blowout win. I think it probably was his QB that was responsible for throwing that bomb but listening to Lane Kiffin say his QB needed to work on developing some class was a bit much. Apparently he's a good coach, I'll give him that. I loved his dad's defense here & elsewhere.

So you guys are telling me you’d rather have rhule, frost,Riley over kiffin? If we brought kiffin in next year we would win minimum 10 games.

I guess what we are saying, is that Doucheman1994 is a tool and we don’t need to engage with you. Our coach isn’t on the hot seat - no reason to speculate on a coaching change. Get gone.

He or his wife don't want to live in Lincoln.
I love Nebraska football only a notch below my kids and I have the strongest desire to never live in the hamlet known as Lincoln. I can’t fault either if true.

Sure we would. Kiffin is magical in his first year

Raiders 4-12
Tennessee 7-6
USC 8-5
FIU 11-3 (then 5-7 in year 2 - ha!)
Ol Miss 5-5

But he’d win 10+ here in Year 1 for sure.

I was born in Omaha and can damn near balance my checkbook, still waiting for Buffett to hand over the keys to the empire

Kiffin is more famous as the only head coach known to have ever been fired at the airport after a game.

If we wanted a coach that would win some ballgames but choke like a dog eating a chicken bone in every big game they've ever coached, we could have kept Pelini.

Lane Kiffin? Really?

I heard Dan Lanning once camped at Lake McConaughy as a kid.

We should reel him in.
