You're 100% right. That's why we should always strive to have coaches who perform at a level which does not make them desirable to being hired away by other programs. And we've been doing a damn good job of it for the last 25 plus years and counting.
Lane has no idea what he's being paid to go to LSU...I watched him say it. Don't you love that about him?
Right?
But we still have fans that are like
1. These coaches are so honest
2. This is who I would want my kid to play for
3. They are great leaders of young men
Again, they are regular dudes and this is their job, that is it.
Meanwhile their program brings in over 100 million before TV revenue. I don’t think they have any stadium updates planned.
Nobody pays lots of money to watch a librarian do their job. And college libraries are all digital now anyway, nobody is going to a library to read a physical copy of a research study.
Well actually at Harvard’s undergrad library there are still tons of references that aren’t available online. I know this because I got to help return boxes of them when my daughter graduated.
Right? Like, they pretend like that is not in the budget or that the maintenance crew isn't authorized to spend a few hundred dollars to fix that.
I know nothing about fixing stuff but I feel like I could get that fixed up in a few hours and it would look just fine.

The governor is waving pom-poms for Kiffin’s hire, excitedly telling Fox News, “All I can tell you is we got a great big, beautiful Lane coming to LSU now.” Can you smell what’s coming out of LSU? That would be the unforgettable odor of mendacity.
