yeah i recall reading that rudock used to outplay cjb in practiceWhat happened today is likely not happening every practice.

Hard to judge YAC because the defense wasn't tackling. Moulton pulled up after he got through the first tier several times but LJ is quick and hard to see behind our line.He is the definition of a bowling ball, nice lateral movement, but insane on YAC
Field goals? Iowa won't need a FG kicker or a punter this season. Passing is winning. Offense is winning. Retire those "Punting is winning" T-shirts and get with the program.little worried about the FG unit, not sure how the DL looks, which could impact how good the offense looked, but it is very easy to be optimistic about this offense after that performance, holy **** are we deep at RB and TE. I am still legit worried they decide to go with Brown for some reason.
Actually, I'll bet it is.What happened today is likely not happening every practice.
LJ Phillips highlights. Really like the way he runs, looks like a locomotive once he gets going.
Don't be ridiculous. It means:so thismeans Hank Brown is the starter

Jay Norvell described him as a "bowling ball covered in butcher knives,"Holy crap what’s not to like about this guy? Feet just keep moving and seems hard to bring down. Hits the hole in an angry way.

No, Jay Norvell quoted Hayden Fry talking about Richard BassJay Norvell described him as a "bowling ball covered in butcher knives,"
Can’t transfer except once per year in Dec/Jan when the transfer portal opens. The 2nd team QB would be an idiot to not stay engaged. When’s the last time Iowa went a full season without the starter getting injured? 2019?Of course, KF is not going to name a QB1 yet. The "loser" would immediately transfer somewhere, knowing he will not get a meaningful snap in two seasons, barring a fatal injury.
This is my concern. Gameday butt clenching. We have seen it before. What happened today is likely not happening every practice.
Starting Brown would be the most Kirk risk averse move to make. He doesn't like gunslingers.little worried about the FG unit, not sure how the DL looks, which could impact how good the offense looked, but it is very easy to be optimistic about this offense after that performance, holy **** are we deep at RB and TE. Just like Jake Christiansen and Jake Rudock.so thismeans Hank Brown is the starter

Like I said when he committed, he’ll be RB1 when it matters. He’s the perfect back for our system. Has great balance, vision and is a decisive one-cut back. He might not put up the numbers this year because they’ll give Moulton every chance to keep his job but he’ll be a 1,500 yard back next year.Hearing good things about LJ Phillips performance today, haven't seen any clips. Really excited to watch him run this season.
Agree...it's a practice BUT he looked real calm out there. If it wasn't there he did not force anything. Nice deep throws. Did not take off running which make sense for a practice but i am sure he will once in awhile in real games. Talent on the O side of the ball for sure.I know it's practice etc but man the footwork in the pocket, Heck looks comfortable and can sling the rock from any angle...damn the O might have to bail out the D this year similar to the bowl game vs Vandy.
We always have a QB problem.Winter at center. Phillips and OL look good. We have a qb problem.
Actually, that was not Jay Norvell but a voice from up above saying that.Jay Norvell described him as a "bowling ball covered in butcher knives,"
A lot of his runs at USD reminded me of Mekhi Sargent …has the ability to keep his feet and get the extra few yards.Like I said when he committed, he’ll be RB1 when it matters. How many years does Phillps have left? 1 or 2?A lot of his runs at USD reminded me of Mekhi Sargent …has the ability to keep his feet and get the extra few yards.
almost. Hayden's quote was a "rolling ball of butcher knives".No, Jay Norvell quoted Hayden Fry talking about Richard Bass

And don't forget how Brown failed on a routine play that would have beaten Indiana last season. Hecklinski is the guy. Sullivan will eventually pass Brown as the backup, Brown will transfer again at the end of the season, and Bessinger will be pushing everyone. The QB room has some talent, some young talent, and Lester knows what to do with it. No wonder Phil isn't having so much fun.Even if they have be comparable in practice. Showing out when it matters and when the lights are bright matters. Some guys just don't have it when it counts and Hecklinski showed today he can perform when it matters. This needs to be considered.
at least the 57 yarder wasn’t blocked and run back for a TD…so there’s still a chance we are improved![]()
The one that was blocked was from 64 yds. Without Stephens monster leg we won't be attempting anything like that....at least the 57 yarder wasn’t blocked and run back for a TD…so there’s still a chance we are improved![]()
Did Myslinski get any reps with the 1s?Winter at center. Phillips and OL look good. We have a qb problem.
Hank can't handle the lights...https://www.hawkcentral.com/story/s...nick-stadium-open-practice--live/91259109007/
This is a link to Leistikow’s live update thread. Seems like Hecklinski is is wiping the floor with Brown today.
