Trying to catch up on the reactions from media, seems like the DLine remains one of the biggest concerns. Heck had a lot of time in the pocket. If we can't figure out a way to pressure the QB, it'll be a rough season.

Field goals? Iowa won't need a FG kicker or a punter this season. Passing is winning. Offense is winning. Retire those "Punting is winning" T-shirts and get with the program.

Can’t transfer except once per year in Dec/Jan when the transfer portal opens. The 2nd team QB would be an idiot to not stay engaged. When’s the last time Iowa went a full season without the starter getting injured? 2019?

Starting Brown would be the most Kirk risk averse move to make. He doesn't like gunslingers.

For fun, here are Bessenger's snaps. IMO his best throw was that target to the endzone. Perfectly thrown and placed, WR couldn't haul it in. His throwing motion looks effortless, definitely a step above of what previous QB talent's throwing motion at Iowa has looked like.

Agree...it's a practice BUT he looked real calm out there. If it wasn't there he did not force anything. Nice deep throws. Did not take off running which make sense for a practice but i am sure he will once in awhile in real games. Talent on the O side of the ball for sure.

And don't forget how Brown failed on a routine play that would have beaten Indiana last season. Hecklinski is the guy. Sullivan will eventually pass Brown as the backup, Brown will transfer again at the end of the season, and Bessinger will be pushing everyone. The QB room has some talent, some young talent, and Lester knows what to do with it. No wonder Phil isn't having so much fun.
