Kick off returns against Memphis

Talking to some Memphis fans this week, they told me their kicker does not ever kick touchbacks. Apparently his leg is too weak. If that is the case again this week, there are golden opportunities for getting a return TD. Just something to pay attention to this weekend.

Also their returner is solid, but we have the ability to kick it out of the end zone.

Other than once, a team doesn't kick off unless they score.

I have long thought that some of the biggest differences you see between SEC teams and non-SEC teams are on special teams. You think about our big special teams plays from the last 20 or so years, almost all of them were in non-conference games. So no coincidence that we've played three straight games against non-SEC teams and Tulu has played a huge role in all of them.

Silverfield's comments early in the week made it sound like they were planning on kicking it to him and trying to tackle him like any normal returner. OK dude, good luck with that.
