I think Nike just let's them have first pick when it comes to high school recruits. It was the same with cal and UK like his first 5 years here and now he is in Nike's doghouse. I dunno how all these 5 stars keep picking duke given the lack of success of their pro's in the NBA. They have one superstar in Tatum and that's it.

Duke will be good as to be expected. We already have 5 freshman for next year with odds of at least one more between Knox, Peterson, Jasper J, etc.

Need to be able to sell a major role or two to a transfer.

Also we have 3 7 footers currently that are all talented yet not any of them consensus guys to get drafted.

EXACTLY THIS.

I'm sure they will end up with Boozer twins as well. If scheyer can't win with some of the generational talent that's being sent his way these next couple years, i'm not sure how much more help he can get.

Those that thought Duke would cease to be Duke when K retired were sorely mistaken...unfortunately.
Some players don’t have the temperament to play at UK. Plus this might mean that we have some returning bigs coming back?

with him and Flagg its the most talented post players on a team in many years , will be unstoppable
LOL. Yeah, you'd have to put them on the same level as Barrett, Reddish, Zion and Tre Jones -- just unstoppable!!

Not to mention basketball games are won on the perimeter today, and with the portal in full operation having the best freshman center and forward ain't what it used to be when that meant Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

I will wait about eating my crow when they have actually won big in a league that isn't hot garbage. If the ACC was as good as the SEC or Big 12 they would have double digit losses after having 9 losses last year.
Good chance they would have lost more than the 12 we lost year thats for sure

How many 7 footers can we have on a team?

I suspect Ugo and Bradshaw both return, and at least one of them returns with Cyril. (Sp ?)

If we’ve learned anything in the last 10 years it should be that a Good experienced player has more impact in college than a Very Good freshman.

I want every good recruit we can get, but I want to mix them in with a couple players developed organically like Thiero and Ugo. I hope Burks joins that group next year. I really hope Bradshaw come back one more season. Then. we bring in a couple transfers similar to Reeves and Mitchell. I think this is the best roster mgmt. In a perfect world we bring in at least one transfer that contributes for 2 years. I may be getting greedy!

Peterson and a reeves like scorer and a good pg would be ideal

Bet he was having the time of his life while he was here, using every resource available. That's why Hurley needs to be our next coach. I think it was him that said he doesn't waste time on recruits that aren't really interested, looking at their phones, asking about playing time, etc. I can't find the quote but I read it maybe a week ago?

Scheyer and Duke are still living off of Coach K's coattails. It was never going to be an immediate downfall. Probably never a complete one anyway. Duke had some success before Coach K. Watching Duke games now they don't get nearly all the benefit from calls they used to. Sure, they still get a lot of calls, but not nearly as many in the games Ive seen as they used to.

Let's see where they are in 5 seasons from now.

Your second paragraph answers the reference to the first paragraph. Some great players, but one of the worst three-point shooting teams in division one that year. A rarity for any Duke team usually. But that Zion team shooting wise was bad. 30% from 3 on the season ranking 329th in division 1 that year.

They can have the Twins. My preference is Caleb Wilson and AJ Dybantsa and then figure out the rest--based on who reclassifies to '24/stays in '25.

The ACC stinks right now. (Maybe even that’s an understatement.) though as BBN has pointed out in the past, Kentucky hasn’t needed the SEC to help them achieve great heights in other seasons.

I’ll always take the field in March against any team. Getting highly rated recruits only means that you’ll end up winning a good amount of games and have a pretty good record usually. That’s really all that you can predict until that team proves it otherwise.

My gut says Z is the only one with a chance to come back. UGO and Bradshaw both have camps of people in Lexington with them. UGOs camp wanted him to go last year. They want money and they want it now. Bradshaw is with Klutch and have connections to get him drafted on potential. Big Z is just kid from Croatia. The other 2 it’s really not gonna be their decision. It will be the camps decision.

Funny that his main thing was being developed for the pro's his one and only season in college basketball. And the top 25 top college coaches list I read did not even have Sheyer on the list.

And of course we get them in the CC next year. That's going to be a tough game if we don't return some talent.

Here's what's funny.. what will they do with top15 center Ngongba? I have to imagine in the transfer heavy era, that this wouldn't push him to break his commitment. Dukes not playing both of these guys together.
