So they are saying the same thing we are saying in that these refs were not going to let UK win the game. The refs consist of dumb, dumber and most dumber. Time you throw Emmert in the group then he is dumber of the group

Was there ever a comment by the referees after they saw the replay and saw that they had given Wisconsin 2 points they shouldn't have gotten. Don't the referees have to answer to anyone for that outrageous screw up?

It's amazing how many people making comments on this are so clueless. They said "well they lost by 7 if they had lost by 1 or 2 then maybe I could see their point"

How dumb do you have to be ? Towns would have been at the line in a tie game for his FT with 16 seconds left instead of being down 2. He missed the FT so Wisky would have had the ball in a tie game with 16 seconds left instead Kentucky was down 2 points and had to foul and foul and foul which resulted in losing by 7.

I can't recall a game of ours where we were so obviously screwed over by one call. I mean, a bad call is one thing, but you gave them a freaking undeserved basket. How in the hell does that happen?

Another thing that infuriated me was Rafferty basically yelling over and over again that you can't review it. It was like he was screaming at the refs, "you better not, you better not!"

Wrong.

They gave them 4 points in the second half they should not have received. Please don't forget the play where the Wisc point guard jumped from out of bounds, caught the ball in mid air before re-establishing legal position back on the court and shot the layup.

I'm not one to complain about officiating -- I'm really not. I've not joined in on any of the well-deserved threads complaining about them this season. With that being said, the refs did a lot to screw us out of a victory last night...

Actually the other play was in the first half. Two missed calls that weren't judgment calls, just plain missed for whatever reason.

The foul on Aaron after he already had the rebound. It's like the ref said, "No you don't, Kentucky. You're not getting out of this one." It was that late, erroneous, and blatant.

Or we could have just grabbed the rebound. But we didn't do that all night and left it in the hands of the refs. Never a good idea.

The rebound foul on Aaron was shockingly bad. It was then pretty evident that these refs were in Vegas' pocket. They were atrocious and made calls that weren't even fouls on us consistently and tosh kept us from getting over the hump.

At some point, one of the announcers said something like "the last few calls against Kentucky have been" "unintelligible" or "confusing" or something like that. We were all yelling so loud at the time that our attention quickly focused elsewhere.

Does anyone remember this and to which calls the announcers were referring?

I hate to point fingers at the refs but there were a few calls withing the last few minutes of the game that I felt really hurt us. The most obvious was the no-call on the shot clock violation that gave them 2 points. Another was the foul called on Aaron on a layup (I don't remember who). The replay clearly showed that it wasn't even close. I will give the refs that one since it was a judgement call. If you only take the no-call on the shot clock violation, though, that is 2 points that led to us being down 4 and Aaron being forced into to taking a 3 late in the game instead of his brother going to the rim. I feel like it was a game changer.

Combined with the two points Wiscy got when when that player stepped back inbounds and scored two that shot clock violation is a lot bigger.

It does not ever seem we get any calls , but cannot blame the Refs , we just did not finish like we had all yr in close games, we need to get over it and look forward to next yr..

They say one call never decides a game, however that missed shot clock violation altered the last 2 minutes dramatically. Say nothing changes Dekker's three puts Wisc up 61-60 instead of 63-60. His free throw on the next possession makes it 62-60, then Aaron's 3 point play puts UK up 63-62, instead of down 64-62. Even if you say that Kaminsky's two FT's put Wisc up one, Karl's free throw ties the game and all the fouling at the end is out the window. So no one horribly missed call did not decide the game but it did decide how it was played.

If I was coaching my team would have lost, because I would have gotten a technical after that play.

I was at the game. It baffles me when some on this board say that you can't blame the missed shot clock violation because we had opportunities to score after that. That non call was a huge momentum changer. Aaron was adamant and visibly frustrated at the non call. That has got to get into the teams head. Then there was that crap call on Aaron's rebound. Yes, there were missed/bad calls throughout the game but those calls at the critical point in a game, versus those calls at beginning of a game, change momentum. And IMO it was intentional. Just was. You won't convince me otherwise.

It wasn't just that.

Possession before, we are up two and Kaminsky and one of the guards both hack/hold Lyles arms which causes the third shot clock violation. Two free throws for an ok shooter we lost.

Possession after, Dekker flops and we lose and easy post up for Lyles over a shorter player.

Three straight blown calls on three possesions that resulted in a 5-6 point swing of a 2 point game with ~3 minutes remaining.

Add to that that Wisconsin was tired. The refs put them ahead and all they had to do was hit FTs from there.
