I won't be surprised in the least if we don't get Knox. As of now at least, I'd say he's more likely to go to Duke, but I really hope that there isn't one person on this board who still takes z71sab's "insider" status seriously.

It will be the weekend of the Kansas game. Should be a great atmosphere. Don't be surprised if he visits unofficially before that. Big Blue Madness maybe?

I hope it's true and when this kid decides it's time to commit, its Kentucky. The kid is a stud and is for real. With his frame and skillset, You put that kid at the 4 and you run teams out of the gym. Its true the kid could play on the wing, but if I'm the coach, I put him at the 4 and take advantage of the kids quickness. Most think Knox ends up at Duke, but when Cal gets involved it seems all the experts notice and they start wondering if Cal can pull it off like he has in the past. During last years recruiting season, most had Gabriel going to Duke. You just never know!
If he comes to UK,, it'll not to play the 4 spot.. He's the true 3 we keep missing out on.. We're recruiting Washington,, Bamba and Richards for the 4/5 spots.. And I'm guessing Cal won't take Richards unless Bamba is ok with it..

Let's not act like that's out of the question, example...Duke kept all conference Grayson Allen, convinced Amile to play a 5th year via medical redshirt, brought back Kennard, Jeter, Jones and was still able to get Jackson, Tatum, Harry, Bolden. So there's that example and then there is 2015 UK example of bringing people back so exactly why is this so hard for you to comprehend??? Yeah let's question my intent which is supported by recent event lol

The real problem with that narrative is that the 2015 team represented an anomaly, and not some type of trend to point to. Guys like Jackson and Bolden picked Duke for the same type of reasons guys like Bam and Monk picked UK - to play for a prestigious, proven coach while at the same time finding the fastest possible way to the NBA.

I know people beg Matt and others for info and updates, but that's a totally meaningless comment.

First of all, I don't think it's true. Second, it doesn't matter that it's not true because Matt said it to generate interest and to be positive, knowing it's an inconsequential statement at this point in time.

Not trying to be argumentative but why would Matt need to do any of that? Why doesn't it matter if it's true or not? I just have a hard time believing that he would just make it up. He doesn't need to generate interest for anything, he already has the interest and I've never known him to just make something up to be positive. I think it's just something he has heard and passed it along. Nothing more and nothing less. It may be true and it may not be true. He's just passing along info that's he has gathered. I don't think there is any conspiracy with it. JMO, of course.

All of which you mentioned are not favoring Duke. That's his point. Only carter. Trent jr has been leaning west coast as of lately. Bamba to UK. Knox is more UK, FSU, or UNC. Only Carter out of that group will sign with Duke. I think duke could miss out on a lot this year.

I think Duke will nab their fair share of the action. Just playing the percentages but I bet they load up. Maybe not on all their top priorities, and that may be exactly what you mean, but I think they get the 2nd best class. Also, how are so sure the Carter is the only one that signs with Duke? Cause recruiting never changes from the fall to spring? LOL!

The fact that he only has one official visit (Duke) prior to the signing period doesn't instill a lot of confidence.

Either he is a strong lean to Duke and he never makes it to his UK official which isn't good. Or he's not planning on making a decision until the Spring, and that leaves UK with going all-in on one SF when there are others out there we could probably bring in if we put the press on them (Bowen, Vanderbilt, or maybe we could get back in on Wilkes).

Seems likely someone will come up a little short as far as 2017-2018 title contenders go. UK and Duke both need many players of high quality and may just not be enough to go around unless they can both hit most of their targets.

Yeah, keep posting. Knowing what is NOT going to happen can be as important as knowing what is going to happen.
This is true in the philosophical sense - but then we need to encourage him to post an insane amount.

In order for "knowing what won't happen" to be equivalent to "knowing what will happen", then we need to know absolutely everything that will not happen, which is an infinite list of things.

So hop to it, sab.

I kind of wonder how much input the schools had into visit dates for Knox.

I can see Duke pushing hard for an early commit - regardless of what his Dad has said about Kevin taking all his visits and committing in the Spring - and wanting him to come early for a visit.

UK meanwhile playing it cool and having him come to what should be THE most hyped game of the season at Rupp. I like our approach here. I just think Knox is too intrigued by the other schools involved - UK, UNC, and FSU - to pull the trigger early for Duke - no matter what they throw at him.

I don't see why everyone jumped down z's throat. It's just an opinion. Relax.

Well, there's a difference in stating an opinion and acting like you know something as a fact. Big difference there.

Actually think that the early visit puts us at a disadvantage.Since he is going to be a spring signee I would rather have in late so his visit will be one of his last impressions.

Alot of timea everything is all wrapped up after that 1st visit. The rest are just for show. Not saying this is the case with Knox at all, just saying that it may not be a disadvantage just because we weren't the last visit.

Knox is planning on taking two visits to each school left on his list. An official and an unofficial. I believe this ones in for the long haul.

No one is mentioning KU? We're still on his list and we typically land the #1 or #2 SF in each class. (Wiggins, Jackson, Oubre, McLemore). We're SF U.

Knox unfortunately will not be at UK. Sucks bad because he's a star. Brain Bowen will be the sf in this class. My prediction as of today young , waters, petty, Bowen, Washington, Richards and mamba. Look for a Kentucky kid to get a look.
