I admit that I have not read this thread, so if the more knowledgeable fans have commented, I apologize.

Does Brooks compare favorably with PJ? I know he has a physicality in the paint, above the rim and can shoot from outside. But, is he a long 6’7” like PJ? Do you see him in that PF position for UK, should he commit?

The only thing that would surprise me tonight is if KB picked UNC or MSU. That said I don't know why Trayce Jackson would drive several hours up the road tonight to watch a guy commit to UK when he is playing the biggest basketball game of his career tomorrow afternoon down in Washington, IN.
I'll start to be nervous if Keion shows up wearing an 'I LOVE THE NIT' T-shirt.

He's more of a wing than PJ. Better ball handler, shooter and passer. Not the same post presence. I don't think he's as talented as PJ, but he's more versatile.

I think we could play him as a small ball 4, but he'll likely be on the court with another guy similar to him, so there won't be a pure 4 designation really. Just some forwards. Like when we'd play Darius and MKG together, or Wenyen and PJ.

Don’t know. Maybe both of them are tight friends. Guess we will see .

I know that Cal has told him Whitney and Allen should not concern him. If you play small, do you see Whitney and Brooks alternating between the 3 & 4? Seems next years teeam will be built to run.

They are very very good friends. Since childhood.

Indiana commit Armaan Franklin is also in that clique.

They are supporting their buddy Keion. Don't read much into that.

I think Cal will probably start off trying to play Richards and Montgomery together, and it'll be clunky and frustrating.

And then we'll go small with those two guys alternating at the 5, and guys like Brooks and Whitney playing the forward spots interchangeably. Ideally, we'll add McDaniels to start at the 4, and Brooks will be the first sub for the 3/4 spot.

Edit to add: Brooks is basically taking DJ Jeffries' spot and role.

I see zero way that happens . IMO if I had to guess the starting 5 would be Maxey/Whitney/Brooks/Mcdaniels/Richards. But obviously things can and will change. No way he starts both centers .

It is open to the public.
The date is good too, he picked a day when IU isn't playing. I am sure he is impressed with the stellar season Arch Madness brought to you guys. In all seriousness, good luck in the NIT...

I'm just the opposite, I don't have a good feeling about his commitment since his announcement is during the UK game.

You may not feel good about the announcement but this certainly is not a reason to feel that way. When he set the date he knows it's during the SEC tournament Big Ten tournament and all the conference tournaments. It's not like he thought "UK will be playing their Friday night so I'm going to announce during their game".

I understand, it's just history. Many times the coaches that visit have been told they are out and are giving one last attempt. Maybe he's chosen Mich St or North Carolina. I know the Crystal ball doesn't suggest that but... I hope I'm wrong

I will be nervous if he shows up and you can see smoke coming off him. That will tell me he has been dumpster diving.

The HOB reference to a bombshell ... that tells me it's not IU. That wouldn't be a bombshell. At this point, I think picking Sparty or UNC would be a bombshell.

Reminds me of when Zion said he was "going to shock the world" and people overlooked that it meant Duke, because literally nobody had him going to Duke. It was assumed he meant staying home to play for Clemson, to most, instead of picking UK or Kansas.

The people who are still nervous will be making posts next week asking why he hasn't signed yet and asking if he's keeping his options open to go to IU.

I think the bombshell is that our guys came out and said it's Kentucky.

Makes sense. If IU was the pick, everyone would know by now. That's how it goes w/ their connected folks. Never a surprise.

Exactly. And ours rarely talk. When we're in the running this close to time and lips are sealed, that's usually a good sign.

This close to time, it's hard for it not to leak because the staffs know. The Indiana staff might even let it leak a little since it's a local announcement, especially to let the disappointment spread out instead of being one concentrated moment. A "let them down easy" approach, I guess.

But I do think the staffs have been told, and I do think that's when the HOB stuff was posted. Sisk had a pretty good grasp on the timeline, and I think a lot of the folks who told him when/how this would go down are also telling people that it's Kentucky.

I'd say around 6 we get the crystal ball from Evan Daniels and Brian Snow.

I will admit I am not 100% at all. I'm 60-40 UK. If he picks IU then he doesn't want the challenge and he is going to play it safe. I really hope he is a guy that wants the challenge of playing for Kentucky. It's time to get one. Hope it's Brooks tonight. His commitment tonight would move us up to #2 overall behind ARZ.

Yes I do. You said Archie visited the next day. I'm saying it might not be UK or IU since both of those coaches have visited.
Chill man he's ours have faith in Cal if you haven't heard his family talk about how much they like what Cal has said to them. You're panicking way to much sit back and enjoy the ride Brooks is ours tonight!
