Better than what?

I haven’t disrespected your board or anyone here.

I really don't think you have either. I think a lot of us older guys here on the Duke board (OFC for Old Farts Club) appreciate the angle you're coming from. I agree BOTH PROGRAMS have a basketball history with rich tradition and success.

Duke's Vic Bubas era of the 60's featured tremendous talents like Heyman, Mullins, Verga, Marin, Lewis etc. I know K himself cheishes those memories and is very proud of it.

You obviously have much glory and riches to be proud of as a Kentucky fan, from Cotton Nash to Issel to Dampier to Jack Givens. I remember "Goose" Givens was unstoppable in the '78 natty against us, yet as you mention it makes us no less proud of what Gminski, Spanarkel, Banks and that group accomplished. In fact coaches Joe B.Hall and Bill Foster get overlooked at times for their accomplishments. Truly two great overall programs, and great for college basketball.

Your exactly the homer type of fan I was talking about. You’re wanting to exclude the body of work to fit your narrative.

I don’t know how old you are but you are a Duke fan so I would expect you to know Dukes basketball history.

Do you know Duke had a lot of great teams during those years that your trying to tarnish UK’s Championships back then? Duke had great teams back then and we’re very respected. They just never won a championship. So, does Duke’s history start at Coach K’s hiring? Are you disrespecting all the great teams Duke had before? Should Duke’s wins before K became coach not count?

See, if I was a fan like you and wanted to pick and choose time eras and leave out facts to make your argument look better then by your logic Duke wasn’t ever good before K arrived. But being I know Duke’s history I know they’ve been a very respectful program even in the 40’s and 50’s. In which you want to delete history and act like it never happened.

And your Mod just told me the reason he posted 20 years was because it was a even number. 70 years is a even number. And guess what happened in 70 years at UK? 8 National Championships, most wins of any program.

8>5. Besides history, I know math as well.

Have a good day.
It doesn't matter who you pull for, you're spot on. Anyone that throws off on a certain era of ball is being nothing but disrespectful. You can only do what you can do in the time you play. Kentucky, whether we like them or not, is one of the better programs out there, and Calipari is one of the better coaches.
You guys won the title in 12, and have gone to two final four's since then. When Duke doesn't win it all, a lot of our fan base starts up with this "it's hard to win it all in a one loss tourney," yet some like to throw out there that UK has "only" won one title in the last 20 years.
From where I sit, that looks like we are cherry picking info to fit our argument.

Wether some want to acknowledge it or not, those titles in the 40’s and 50’s count. If it were the other way around, we’d be counting them. I can’t stand ky. Not on the level of hatred for the cheats, but I’m not gonna say only titles won in the last 20 years are the ones that count. That’s ridiculous. Now, a helms trophy won in the 20’s??......that’s a different story.

Wouldn't surprise me to see either open as the favorite in Vegas. Game will open at 2.5 (or there about) either way. Be bet down to 1. No idea where the money will go.
