Tremendous half for UK

If the refs didn't totally try to F this game up it would be a complete blowout.

12 FT attempts for Vandy, 3 for UK

I know he can be loose with the ball at times, but it's so nice to have a go to scorer like Murray on the team!

Poythress and Briscoe need to never ever ever shoot a 3 pointer. I can't believe how bad Briscoe s shot is.

Yeah, it was a foul on Poythress. Thing is if they called all the contact like all the time, every player on both teams would be gone in the first half. The issue is consistency or lack of it.

Murray has played well.
(silence)
Luke Kornet once delivered a baby calf on a runaway train.
Luke Kornet. Luke Kornet wasn't a big time prospect. Luke Kornet's father played at Lexington Catholic.

ESPN storytime sucks.

When Poy and Lee play like this we are hard to beat. All we need is a few post ups by Poy and the put backs and rebound from Lee.

Good half defensively. Cats playing hard and smart for the most part. Guarding the 3 well...huge in the 2nd half to keep them from hitting 3s.

Offensively not bad considering we played a lot of lineups with guys who struggle skill-wise to shoot and score. Though great to see Matthews hit a jumper

Good half overall. Couple dumb moves but good energy and didn't let Vandy get too close despite a mini-run in there.

Alex Poythress has eight points, Jamal Murray with nine, and seven players all have two or more rebounds.

Yeah, folks know Im not a Briscoe guy. I think given the minutes he plays hes just not skilled enough offensiveky. But not sure we have a lot of options. And he does other things well.

Would like to see if Matthews could develop into that SF role but not sure hes skilled enough.

I totally wish we could leave this chicken crap league. It is criminal what we have to accept from obviously incompetent and/or possibly corrupt officials. What was the line for game and the first half?

Exactly. They call it every now and then because according to the frickin idiotic new rules, they apparently should. But they don't call it every time because everybody would be playing walk-ons by halftime if they did. I can't imagine how frustrated these kids must be.

Need to come out of the locker room and play tough D and add about 7 more points to the lead by the first time out.

You could see that. Poythress was clearly, "what the hell?" After the call.

Cats with 14 more shot attempts and 10 more shots made than Vandy.

If refs weren't complete morons this would be a 20 point game.

Can't help it, I cringe when he shoots from anywhere over 1 foot....:)
Yeah he's shooting 16% (probably actually worse than that) from three and he chooses to take a hesitated, fade away three pointer. Gotta value every possession. That is one of many things this team needs to adjust.

Only 2 TO's by the Cats in the first half.
Season low 6 against Arkansas. I hope they continue this trend of taking better care of the ball. As a young team grows, this is an area that would make sense to get better about this point in the year.
