I didn’t think this team would lose 7 games this season.

I get it, there were injuries, but that's every year apparently.

Had a 1 seed in the palm of our hands and we came out with a total **** game.
Impact of Toppin's broken nose was apparent today.

Bye bye one seed
If this team plays like it has the past 4 games it won’t matter. They would struggle against a rd of 32 game. It sucks but it’s reality. I hate it. Fingers crossed we somehow start playing w effort and playing actual defense.
BUT if u can’t get fired up to beat a team that embarrassed you then you DONT deserve to win.

If there was a stat for ball slapping we'd lead the country...

I mean jesus...if Oscar ain't in the game we're not going to get a rebound...everyone else just swats at it...while UT has guards who will jump up, grab with both hands, and hold on to the damn ball like is taught to every pee-wee player day 1...

Seven long years since we've been a 1 seed.

Think about that.

The gold standard and needle mover and UCLA chaser and all that other bunk that doesn't mean a hill of beans when you lace 'em up in March.

Not sure. But you might be right. The talent is there, maybe something else lacks.
Not really. Good experience. But very average athletically. Other than Wheeler no one can take his man off the dribble.

That’s a huge limiting factor in what Cal wants to do offensively

The only question for me is how come only Oscar had that winning energy for 36 minutes?

Why did it take losing Oscar to fight like that at the end?

We’re straight up fraudulent right now.
I wish I could disagree with you, but we peaked in January and coasted ever since. We lost our mojo.

If shots fall, we can win, but Cal's rule "shoot, or I'm taking you out" allows Brooks and Wheeler to take too many bad shots that they rarely make.

And Cal allowing Grady to play with no passion, is crazy to me. I really thought Cal would have fixed that, but that didn’t happen.

Playing for a #1 seed you would think we would be at least a #2 seed but I wonder if we even stay ahead of Tennessee if they win tomorrow.

Tennessee and Kentucky both 7 losses They have 10 Quad 1 wins to our 9 and both have 5 quad 2 wins.

Only trump card we have is pretty big a win at Kansas but does that beat 2 out of 3 H2H ?

We all thought a lock for a #2 but who knows.

I still think we get a #2 but are we really over Tennessee now ?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Three point shooting is a part of the game, so if you want to win, you have to hit them. Those shots were wide open, they shpuld have hot them, they didn't.
But it’s odd how you pinpoint 3 point shooting, they sucked at shooting from 2 point range too. Should they stop shooting two's too?

The fact that he continues to do it without repercussions should give you your answer
True. I think it’s a little bit of both. Cal encourages these guys to shoot open shots. That is okay for some guys and not so much for others.

These guys (especially Keion) should have the awareness to recognize who should he taking the shots in crunch time when you’re trying to claw back.

Our guys need to get in the fvcking gym and get their shooting right, they haven't shot the ball well in a long time.

Jeff-- it isn't that simple . Its a Cal issue , we do all sorts of things that play into the opponents hands .. Just having Wheeler out there can handcuff an offense against GOOD teams . The later we get in the year the slower the games are played .. its the exact weakness of this roster .. We must run to be efficient . And Cal , for all his screaming , loves .. LIVES FOR , a good ole fashion 63-62 rock fight. Its his mode the longer he stays around and as the season ages .. slow .. slow ,... slow . But we are not shooting well because the wrong people at the wrong times are taking the wrong shots . Pound it in to Oscar .. when the opposing team has a larger player on him .. just wont cut it in the long term . I know Grady got a few shots up .. but were they actually good looks . I dont think so . Why is Brooks and Wheeler taking threes ? Because other teams want them too.
