You can't watch the game of basketball, see lack of certain fundamentals, and not say where tf is the coaching. Blaming the players on some things that are clearly coaching issues is casual fan nonsense.

Proud of this team for the fight today! Nobody was winning that game at Florida, with those garbage refs. I honestly don’t think anyone beats them today, with the same circumstances.

It takes Kansas 3 games to get 26 fouls. There needs to be an investigation into the whistle they get.
Endlessly frustrating we continue to go down big in the first half. I think today it was a 15 point deficit in the first half? The comebacks show the team could be really good, but you just can't expect to make a big comeback against the kinds of teams you have to beat to win anything meaningful.
I had a fleeting thought that we'd get backdoored by Don Daily and his crew. That was a good one. Shoulda seen that coming.

Gotta be way better than that to beat the best team in the league on the road. Oweh was awful both offensively and defensively. Aberdeen was good but needs to look to kick more when he penetrates. Proud of Moreno, Chandler and Mo. Ready for a Garrison replacement next year. We are so limited talent wise right now. But they fight.

I know it's well established by now that this roster was terribly assembled. But it's worth noting that the team you recruited to win physical matchups just got dominated physically. I hope and pray Pope approaches this offseason knowing he needs to recruit for offense and make it work on defense. Get skilled scorers who are tough, and let the defense develop as the season goes. Win track meets when you can't stop the other team.

We’re playing Florida today champ. The subject has come up numerous times. The last few comments I had to laugh at the comparison.
Golden is 10X the coach of Pope. Golden would kill it here. That in itself isn’t saying much, Pope is just an average coach who’s not close to the caliber to coach here.

The only thing I can say about the officiating is you have to call the game the same both ways. If you have 2 teams playing equally aggressively, one should not be in the bonus with 15 minutes left and the other not reach the bonus until 2 minutes left. And call a guy like Condon for the damn travels. If you call a couple of those early, maybe he’s not as aggressive offensively. He walked at least 6 or 7 times today.
THIS! It’s unreal the whistle we get in the SEC. Florida was in the bonus with over 14 minutes left in the second half. Florida had THREE fouls at that time. Just incredible.
Exactly. And some of these people that have obviously never played in competitive sports don't realize how much poor officiating effects how you play. It's tough to play defense, it's tougher to rebound, offense is tougher to come by, etc when one team is getting any and everything called and the other has to get tackled to get a call..and even some of those types of fouls on Florida had late whistles. That CLEAN block by Oweh that was called a foul vs. Tennessee last weekend was one of the worst calls I've ever seen and it would never be called on Duke, Kansas, UNC (well, maybe if they're playing Duke..lol), etc...just UK. UK has been home cooked so many times, it's ridiculous. 3 bogus technical fouls in 30 seconds at Arky, so, road officiating is even worse for UK.
Here’s hoping we close out strong the rest of the season. Hopefully we at least go 5-1 in the regular season!
Going forward, the offense should focus on working to get Chandler open looks, isolating DA, throwing it down to MM when he is there and letting Oweh take guys that can't stay in front of them. Chandler needs to double his shot attempts per game. When Jasper comes in we should see if he is on or off, a d when Noah comes in, if he turns down an open look he should be pulled immediately. Jelly can clean up the trash inside. BG doesn't need to handle the ball and the first time he doesn't box out or runs his mouth, he should be bench on the spot
If it were me I’d replace Garrison with Noah in the rotation. The guy just gives us nothing. Go small when Moreno needs a breather.
