I want to wish my good friends in Louisville best of luck versus the Kentucky. The Kentucky basketball program is nothing but a group of mercenary athletes.

For those Kentucky fans who ain't so smart, here is the definition of mercenary:

Mercenary takes part in an armed conflict whom is not a national or party to a conflict and is "motivated to take part in the hostilities by desire for private gain".

This is Calapari basketball through and through, the players don't give a rats *** about the university or education its all about their private gain of making millions in the NBA.

You attack our conference like we root for the other schools. I'm a Kentucky fan not a SEC fan. Not our programs responsibilty to build other programs in the conference.

I guess that means you are not a UK football fan.
That's been the sole identity of the UK football fan for decades. When it comes to basketball, I guess when you play in such a putrid conference that your team dominates its pretty easy to ignore it.

LOL, Louisvillian you mean that girls basketball conference that they play in ? I will scan through the sports channel every now and then looking for a game to watch and every time I find an SEC home game there is nobody at the game. It is like watching two teams having a scrimmage game and it is so empty and quiet that you can hear everything the players are saying to each other.

I mean...I can't really disagree with you, but I would argue that a great number of athletes care about "making millions in the NBA". Are you going to tell me that the players on any given elite team (UK, Duke, Kansas, UNC, Louisville, etc.) chose that school because they really love the university?

I would argue that a great majority of these players, by your definition, would be "mercenaries". I bet most chose these programs to get the best coaching and best experience to help them achieve their goal of getting to the NBA. Nothing wrong with that...I'd do the same. I'm a huge UK football fan...but if I was a 5* athlete, you can bet the house I'm going to try to go to Alabama, Ohio State, etc.

John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Michael Kidd-Gilchrst, Karl Anthony-Towns, Patrick Patterson, and others have all given generously to the University of Kentucky as well as charities within the state. The majority of players Cal has recruited since coming to UK find time in their NBA schedules to visit campus during the season and off season, and stay active in many UK related activities. While they do come to UK for a chance at being a lottery pick in the NBA, they also show great love and care of the program once they leave.
