All these supposed to be fans downing this team and coach and staff about being dead and needs to move on with coach and staff..well guess what? You would run out on your family and not protect them if you were the one left up to make a decision! Call it: A Deadly Decision! Now linger on that, on the off season!

I hope some rivals make the mistake of thinking we’re dead for good. I’ve seen that claim before.

Get Oats in here. We have a better shot with him than Calipari. That’s how we move on. People have to wake up.
We have a better shot with most anyone? Don’t like Oats as a hire and have expressed this several times on this forum this year before the bad news.

My reasons:
1 He will be similar to CCC as far as recruiting and building a new team every year.
2. Runs little offense. In a game against Arkansas, Bama had 38 possessions in the 1st half and made 38 passes! It is guard dribbling the ball waiting for big man to set a pick. Then drives to the basket and shoots or passes out to the other 3 players standing beyond the 3-point arc. No ball movement, no player movement

Bama does seem to play hard on defense

Reliance on the 3-point shot as your offensive strategy does not lead to consistent offensive success to me. If you watched Xavier today, all 5 of their players are constantly moving, look to pass and not dribble and gave good offensive possessions most times down the floor. Barkley just said the same thing on the halftime show.

My biggest wish is that COW will leave but knowing that will probably not happen, pray that he will announce early next year that it will be his last. My 2nd wish Is UK hires Frank Vogel.

Really…. Oats?

Do any of you actually think Nate Oats could handle the pressure of Big Blue Nation? Not a Cal fan, but there aren’t many coaches out there that could handle our fan base of wack jobs.

I’ve always said, one and domes don’t build teams, but yet we expect to recruit the best players available. The transfer portal has now created a whole new mess. It’s a tough era to coach in. Adolph Rupp never had had these issues to contend with.

I’m assuming Wallace will go pro. Oscar, Toppin, and Wheeler are seniors. What will happen with Ware and Collins? Transfer portal? Not sure if getting rid of Cal is the answer, but we need to be more honest with the players. There have been too many players leave the program too early. We are never going to be consistent if we are rebuilding every year.

Ok. This is a GAME. Not family or life or death. Rethink this for your own sake.

I’m really worried he might be right

Nobody ever lived who loves Kentucky Basketball more than I do, or who knows more about it. But it’s dead. You need to prepare yourself for the possibility that it’s gone for good. I have. I had plenty of practice during probation, and then the Smith debacle. It’s in worse peril now than either of those situations.

This is someone I trust and is the biggest uk fan I know.

It doesn’t have to be accepted at all. Keep the fire to that ***. You’re throwing your hands up and saying oh well, is what it is. Accept it my ***.
It's not going to change. Cal will stay why would he leave? He's making lots of money and at a top program. Well this was a top program in the past. Even if he left which why would he until he's in his mid 70s, who would we get? A unproven coach? There really isn't big names out there unless it's Self or Bennett. Self won't come.

Sad but true. Cal hss created apathy which is a program killer. With each passing year folks are growing disinterested. Losses mean less. Losses are expected. Passion of the fanbase is waning. Excitement and expectations are lowered.

It's here and it's growing.

It's dead due to lack of roster continuity and putting the name on the back of jersey ahead of the name on front of jersey for the past 14 seasons, there are no upperclassmen anymore who have lived it and understand and pass on the tradition, pride, winning mindset that was created by Rupp way back when. And that will most likely never return

We lost a close game and season-ending losses are especially crushing. We missed shots in the last couple of minutes and Kansas St made shots. I still think we are the better team, but cannot win games when 2 starters cannot find the basket.
I’ll be back in November and everyone of you criers will be too. When is the next game?

I'm just at a loss how anyone is OK with Cal as coach at the moment.

The guy is a parody of the man he was when he first came here. 2012 Cal would openly mock the coach we had today, and he'd kick his *** on the court.

Next year is just going to be garbage - a predictable pattern of early season losses, mid season line up changes and a NBA talent ready team that gets schooled by well coached, disciplined team in the tournament.

No SEC tournament championship, no better than 3rd best record in the SEC and if we're lucky an early season win over a Quad 1

Maybe something crazy happens and some guys come back, but at this point , it should be clear to everyone that Calipari of 2012 is long gone. What we have now is a guy too tired, too disinterested and to self important to make this work.

You know how some actors say they do a movie for the fans and then do a movie for themselves? Calipari has been doing coaching for 6+ years now for himself. That's not hyperbole.

He has put his agenda and his priorities over that of the program. That is not up for debate.

Whatever potential he has coming in next year in terms of players, his lack of interest in being a coach negates it.

I think NIL has made it even tougher on coaches to correct players. Quite a few great coaches bailed when this became the norm

John Calipari has clearly stated it's a players first program.

Not winning first, players first.

So winning is a luxury not a necessity to Cal's way of thinking.

Everybody gets rich...
