As always, we had some good banter leading up to the game and I think for the most part, it was a very exciting game. From Murray's amazing performance with Ulis' step back jumpers and Fisher-Davis making a few big threes for Vandy, that gym was electric from well before the tip. I appreciate your fans that travel and make that game so much fun as well, so props to those who made it.

The Dores played very well and we are hopeful that we are finally playing like we expected them to play all year. Beating Florida at UF and UK in the same week is huge for our NCAA chances.

I still firmly believe that UK will go on quite a run in the Big Dance because of Murray and Ulis. I absolutely love watching those two guys play basketball as I know you do as well.

Lastly, after Murray made a 3 to give the Cats a 38-30 lead, he did the bow and arrow motion, somebody should make a gif of that and put it in this thread (would make for a nice sig for somebody).

Best of luck, fellas!

Good win for the Dores this weekend. Congrats. I think Vandy will now make it to the Big Dance, and Damian Jones will have a successful NBA career. I hope we get the rubber match in Bridgestone Arena in a few weeks.

I'm afraid I am gonna have to pull rank on you. I'm with the Mattress Police. There are no tags on these mattresses.
Love it. I use that quote every once in a while but I've found that not many out there remember Fletch or ever saw it so I usually get a blank stare.

Vandy like A&M has elite 8 talent but has first round loss coaching so they won't go anywhere . If the SEC is going to represent it will be UK as always and I expect us to when Willis comes back.

Yeah, it's time for Vandy, A&M and South Carolina to step up and do something when it matters most. All three teams have talent so there shouldn't be any excuses.

Agree on SEC Tourney, preferably on Sunday for the whole ball of nachos!

As for, can we make the 2nd weekend? It depends on our draw, of course, but mostly, do we play with purpose and like our hair is on fire. The talent is there to make a very deep run. Damian Jones is playing like a monster and has been now for about the last month, but the biggest key is trimming down the rotation and that Matthew Fisher-Davis finally appears to care. Fisher-Davis is a flat out assassin if he wants to be, very deadly shooter.

You know as well as I do though, that Stallings hasn't gotten a team to play well in March since Shan Foster and Derrick Byars were a blown walk call against Jeff Green from making the Elite 8.

I'll be watching and if we make the 2nd weekend, I will be in the house for sure.

If Vandy could play like that everytime out they would be tough to beat the big boy played like a man yesterday, and your guards played well, Kornet didn't give much, and if we could have made shots we would have been in it at the end. I congratulate you an your victory and too hope you can get to NCAA and make some noise.

Kornet didn't play great, but he had 8 points, 11 rbs, but most importantly, was a great rim protector. Make no mistake, we are not as good without him. If Luke gets going offensively, we can hit another gear, but as long as he's playing defense and rebounding, that helps us win games.

Crazy how Vandy can play their absolute worst game AND absolute best game against the same opponent....

Not sure that was our best game yesterday, especially offensively, but we certainly played well. This is why I didn't understand those who said UK boatraced VU at home, so we are exponentially better than them.

Quite frankly, you would have to play 10 or more times on a neutral floor to truly determine how much better one team is than another one.

188 fouls in eight away games vs. 149 in home games. We get the same home court whistle so no bias, just an obvious observation

I thought it was 1 of our most poorly played games of the year. Murray was brilliant. You will never see a better individual effort, but basketball is a team sport. Ulis and Briscoe made a couple of outstanding finishing moves inside the paint, but neither could hit the broad side of a barn from the perimeter. But there were no other ways to create successful shots. All of our bigs played poorly. We shot poorly again from the free throw line, and that is killing us. You can see 5 unmistakable bad trends with this team. Road games continue to be a trap, because we almost always play flat and stop scoring baskets for key minutes in the 2nd half on the road. Fewer and fewer offensive options are working against well prepared opponents, so more and more of our shots are being taken by Murray and Ulis. We still have a tough time playing solid defense late in the clock, because too many breakdowns. Our bigs are getting beat to important defensive rebounds, so opponents are scoring game defining baskets on their offensive board. And we are still a bad free throw shooting team, especially when it really counts.

he's been doing that for a couple of months now, though his facial expression for this one was probably the best yet. the bow and arrow celebration started in portland, same as the three goggles interestingly enough

Thanks. He is flat out nasty. As y'all saw, we had him blanketed all day and he still went off for 33. He had to have been tired after running our defenders off screens all day, but still was able to square up and make shots.

Love watching him play and will miss him next year.

Congrats on the win. I honestly hope VU and some other SEC teams can rep the conference in the Big Dance. Our lack of decent bigs killed us, and will be a huge disadvantage through the remainder of the season. We only go as far as Ulis, Murray and a healthy Willis can take us.

Honestly if Ulis, Murray and Willis give us an average (for them) performance all we need is for 1 of the remaining players to play well. On a neutral court that shouldn't be out of the question. It's true road games that make some of our players lose their poise.

Didn't realize he had 11 rebounds he contributed more than I thought.

I know when you are young and doing good especially on national TV in a hostile environment it easy to get carried away, I thought when he was doing that bow and arrow he didn't need to do that unless you hit several tough shots down the stretch to help your team win. If I am playing against someone thats doing that it would strengthen my resolve to beat them, can't not love Murray but he needs to control that a little.

I agree but he's so damn good and fun to watch. Hopefully the next time he does it he's just closed out a huge NCAA Tourney win.

Vandy has been playing very well lately and it that elevated level of play seemed to coincide with the rumblings that stallings may have been on the hot seat.

Would be nice to see them make another sweet sixteen. He's done a great job developing the guys he's got.

Stallings is a very good coach but he does have weaknesses. The biggest issue is that we had several very talented teams crap the bed in the NCAA tourney, then 3 straight non NCAA tourney teams, and the fans have been pissed. He's a too 25 coach imo but still needs to produce.

Like you, I would love to see him advance this team. Good group of kids.

Can I borrow your towel? My car just hit a water buffalo.

Having said that, I have said for years that if Vandy could play every team the way they do Kentucky, they would have a top ten program. But for whatever reason, they consistently lose games they shouldn't in both the regular season and NCAA's when they make it.

Vandy did this last year and played well in there last 10 games and everyone then was saying they would be the team to beat this year in the SEC. Vandy hasn't been to the NCAA Tourney since the 2011-2012 season. They were knocked out in 2nd round of the NCAA Tourney in 2011-2012 and the previous 6 years with Stallings they made it to the NCAA Tourney but was beaten in the 1st or 2nd round of the Tourney. Vandy still has to play UT at home and that is usually a good rival game and then a tough road game at TA&M. That TA&M game could be another game for Vandy to help them get off the bubble with a win on the road. If not, and they go into the SEC Tourney and lose 1st game they are back to the NIT. The Vandy at Texas A&M game could be huge for us if we are still tied heading into our home game and Senior Day vs. LSU. If we are tied with TA&M, a Vandy upset at TA&M and we beat LSU would give Kentucky the SEC tite outright and the #1 Seed in the SEC Tourney. That is why it is huge to have a big win at Florida Tuesday night to keep pace with TA&M and hope they are either upset at Auburn on Tuesday or Vandy to upset them next Satuday.
