Thanks for posting.
KenPom is an inexact science, but I follow it somewhat closely.
Will be interesting to see who is right on the Defense projection. KenPom says 35th — CTC watchers seem to be thinking something probably higher.
Personally, I am hoping that Duke’s season is marked by an impressive showing on the defensive side.
I’d say 13-5 is about right. Again we have the most talent but I think it will take some time to come together. As usual the conference will be really strong and we will have games that just leave you baffled. But overal we should win a fair amount.
I can see that as well. I think I’m just trying to be a little bit more cautious due to how young this team is and how there will be the inevitable growing pains. My top concern is going to be limiting turnovers and how do we fare when things go bad. That’s a big unknown right now for me. Hopefully our FT shooting can be around 70% as a team.I was thinking 15-3 or 14-4 based on Duke having a more favorable ACC schedule this season compared to the past. IIRC, we get Louisville and UVA at home only and of course we play UNC at home. I think we get Notre Dame at home only as well.
Can someone post the ACC schedule?

No question about that. I’m definitely ready to roll and can’t wait to see them live on Friday. Been a long time.Oh I understand and my prediction is based on favorable scheduling and no major injuries/suspensions/dismissals, etc.
Nothing wrong with being cautious. But, I'm eager, especially with how 2017 ended. We're built to dominate, but I'll be reasonable and temper my expectations.
I understand that its dynamic. However, unlike our pre-season ranking -- this one can actually improve. He's saying that's where we will start (35th on defense) to begin the season. Of course when we start playing actual games, that number will improve or get worse depending on how many points we allow on offense.
I think last year's defense finished 47th, so 35th isn't that bad to start the season.
Can someone post the ACC schedule?
@ BC
-if we stay healthy, then I don't think going 14-4 is totally unreasonable

A few points....
-I think this is the last year of 18 conference games....isn't the ACC going to 20 next season?
-on paper, this conference schedule looks 'easier' than the one we had last year
-I think we should be prohibitive favorites in our first five games, with the game at State standing out the most...that's always a tough place for us to win
-our toughest stretch, IMO, is back-to-back home games against UVA and ND, then road trips to UNC and GT....also sandwiched in there is a game at St. John's
-if we stay healthy, then I don't think going 14-4 is totally unreasonable
I think 15-3 in the ACC with losses to FSU, Miami, and VT.
With a 10 day break at Christmas, I could see the team being a little rusty vs FSU even at home.
I could see a loss to Miami away. They seem to have our number.
I could also see a loss at VT on a Monday with playing Syracuse the Saturday before.
I could see a record of 26-4. with a loss to Michigan State as well as the 3 ACC losses.
Love the optimism! I think it’ll be 14-4 and I like 26-4. That’s a hell of a regular season. Wouldn’t be surprised at 15-3 or 13-5, 16-2 is pretty nuts.I like us at 16-2 in the conference with 3 losses overall. That loss being either in the ACC tournament or a random non-MSU game, we aren’t losing to MSU.
We outright win the league by 2 games minimum.
I think K has a team this year built to play any style needed to win, whether it's a physical grind kind of game, or fast tempo, plus I think K has a chip on his shoulder. The last 2 seasons have been brutal, even the 15-16 team was hampered when Jefferson went down. Probably weren't gonna win it all, but it still hurt.I don't keep up with the other teams in the conference enough to know who they lose, have returning, and have coming in close enough to be able to make an educated prediction on how many we will win this year. I just want to win 6 in a row at the end of March and first of April.
