The university athletic dept budget may be in trouble, but between the corporate folks and rich alumni there is plenty. Places like UPS, Ford , GE. Planet Fitness guys and many others will step up.
Is that why a Louisville dealership has given 3 Porches to UK players. How many for UL? And like I said, UL is broke.

See this is my question. Is Kenny expected to add Milt Wagner on his staff? If not then I understand people thinking we shouldn't worry about DJ Wagner playing for Louisville.

If Milt is hired to be on his staff though I think it's pretty wild to still consider DJ a "lock". I don't care how close Dajuan Wagner relationship is with Cal. Silly to think it's impossible to think DJ wouldn't consider the school that has his granddad on the staff.
Who were/are you closer to? Your dad or grand dad ?

Really speaks to where he is right now with his career. I doubt he had many significant programs pursuing him. It’s a tough rebuild but he may be thinking he can pull them out of the whole. Honestly, if I were a Louisville fan, I wouldn’t be super excited with the hire.
We aren't U6 fans. They are excited

Some of you are way too dramatic. I'm happy for him. It would be silly to not accept a top tier job where he played.

Maybe this rivalry will be competitive again, which is good for UK in terms of testing the players, and good for college ball.
Never, ever wish for success for U6. Much prefer it stays like it is!

He’s a Card to the bone. I never understood him being on our staff. No one with a UofL connection should ever be on our bench or sideline. I’ll look forward to hating him and hoping he loses every game. Eff Louisville.
This . He can piss off , he's the enemy of all things UK now .. and BTW -- what timing .. couldn't the guy wait 2 weeks ?

That job would have been there later on. Why the heck would KP want to step into that dumpster fire for his first HC gig? His HC career may be over before it starts. SMH. Happy for KP, but I don't think it's the smartest move on his part.
Hes cashing in , I cant say I blame him for that , but he is strictly the enemy now .

Actually, I think maybe KP can bring a level of civility to the rivalry. I mean UL/U6 is clearly the inferior program. But here is nothing wrong with being inferior to the #1 program of All-Time. IMO, as long as UL/U6 fans aren't a-holes then we can co-exist.
Screw UofL, I wish KP nothing but the best, but nothing but the worst for U6 fans and enough wins to consistently keep them out of the tournament and win nothing.

UK players are averaging six figures across the board, a guy like him will make way more than that. No UofL player will make that. I don’t think UPS is getting that much into NIl yet, it’s not like they need any more publicity in the area or Ford for that matter. Everyone in the state knows those jobs exist. Pretty much one of the first places that comes to mind to ship anything.

Owners of planet fitness, Republic Bank, Forcht Bank , Lynn Family and many other in this town support U6 heavily.

Won't care about winning just like Sharpe and family don't care about UK winning a NC..
1) poster above is a twwat.
2) I think Kenny is too nice a guy to get the best out of a team. It's kinda like you gotta be a bit mean to a dog to train a dog.

He can pay Louisvilles fines. I assume he’s been a donor for awhile? How come no good players are going to UL?

No, he will help pony up for NIL deals.

Believe me, there is plenty of $$ in the city waiting to jump back in now that Mack and Tyra are gone.

Google Bridgeman.

Well is Dajuan Wagner closer to his dad or coach Cal ? Lol
Who is Milt closer to? A guy he played with for ONE season at UofL or the Coach that helped his medically compromised son make enough money to NEVER have to worry about finances AND was on that same coaches staff AFTER his son left. Coach Cal is EXTREMELY CLOSE to Milt, Dejaun AND DJ.

I’ll do that. Still doesn’t change the fact that the athletic department is broke and UL can’t even pay for their own damn arena.

Looks like the UL board thinks Wagner will be an assistant on Payne’s staff. That would change DJ’s destination.

The YUM Center is paid for by the Arena Authority, comprised of UofL, Metro Louisville, and the state of Kentucky.

UofL wanted to build an on campus arena with private money but was persuaded by the city to play downtown.

My entire comments has been if Milt is on the Louisville staff . If that’s the case why on earth would Milt Wagner want DJ Wagner to choose Kentucky over Louisville . Like I said I’m it saying he’s definitely choosing Louisville but I don’t get why people on here don’t see the logic of those that are now worried about it .

How am I wrong, dude? Louisville athletic department is broke. THEY CANT PAY FOR THEIR OWN ARENA!! I mean, should I say it again? And why would I know a Louisville boosters name? I’m a Kentucky fan.

Now, kindly explain to me what I was wrong about? It’s okay, I’ll wait. I have a feeling imma be waiting a long *** while.

Half of Louisville is UK fans, at least. We have 3 current players riding around in Porches that plates say Louisville on it. I mean, is this the dude that paid the $100k for Bowden or will whatever his name was? Does he own Italian restaurants that it’s okay to have sex on the tables? Is he a pimp? Sending them ho’s to Minardi Hall to squirt to the ceiling?

I mean, what am I missing? How is this dude and all this Louisville money(remember they can’t pay for THEIR OWN ARENA) gonna matter? Still gonna get ***** smacked in football and horse raced in basketball.

Next.

Yet UK’s athletic budget GIVES back to UK, you know the school?

I feel like I’m in a fight with a midget. If I whoop his ***, everybody says you did what your supposed to and when I whip his ***, I get called a bully.

Bet you a dollar that not one UL fan, that lives in Lexington, is paying for anything UK related. Like how ALL of our athletic upgrades come from PRIVATE donors.

Yet, UL uses bonds from the State and some how F’s that up too. Can’t believe anybody wants to claim UL has more money than UK. Lolz.

You’re wrong if you think any major D-1 athletics department is broke lol. UofL will pay for anything they need.

As for Junior Bridgeman, geez, dude. He’s only one of the greatest players in the history of this state, was the #8 pick in the NBA draft, and after a 12-year career in the league, retired and became a brilliant businessman. He’s currently worth $600million. Log off this site some time and introduce yourself to Wikipedia.

Yes, an athletic department can indeed go broke when you make 15 bad hires in a row and have to pay them to leave. Not to mention all the presidents and AD’s and board members they have had to pay off.

When did he play? I was born in 87. Sorry I don’t know every basketball player and business man that ever existed.

Did you really tell me to Wikipedia something? Lol. You know that site is just as reliable as this one right? As in, anybody can make edits and say whatever the hell they want.

Here is a suggestion for you, quit being a dick. I readily admit imma a ******* but you take the cake. Worst poster on this board. Also, get off CNN, expand your mind.

It would stink to lose Wagner and it seems like we’ve missed out on a lot of top recruits because of family connections, but it wouldn’t matter as much in 2023 as it did in 2019.
