Heading to the Knicks would be a career ending move. That is where basketball careers go to die. I really hope Coach Payne doesn't go there, he would be better off here, or any other place in the world. He would be better off going to a Jr. High than the cess-pool known as the New York Knicks. Shurley he is smarter than that.

Hard these days to have any serious discussions here. From what I read the belief with New York hiring Payne is that several of the soon to be Free Agents that played at Kentucky could be attracted to sign with the Knicks if Payne is there (specifically mentioned KAT and Randle).

I hope Payne does not go. I know some disagree but to me he is the logical successor to Cal whenever Cal decides to retire. I think Payne would keep the recruiting pipleline going, has worked with Cal now to know the system, and would make it an east transition. However, there are no guarantees and his son as a bench player would not be a legitimate reason to stay. I'm sure the kid can function on his own.

It will be interesting to see what happens and if that has any impact on guys like Banchero and their decisions if he leaves.

They want him so that he can recruit KAT and Booker to NY. Matt Jones said KAT loves Payne, and with KAT on a sorry *** team and Booker, well on an even crappier team, I could see this possibility.

I would love for there to be a way where we keep Payne, bring back Antigua, and retain JJ. Barbee apologists have long had a difficult time defending his position in the program. In fact, before the Terrence Clarke recruitment, we'd all be hard-pressed to find consistent references by recruits that painted TB as a key influencer in the program.

Well he did get Cal to play zone for 2:00 or so one game a couple of years ago, so it’s not like he hasn’t had an impact on the program. LOL!

In 2024 when they're free agents? They just signed 5 year max deals.

I love KP. But I hope whatever way he chooses it is an improvement for him and his family. If he can make more money (net) and it becomes a great career move for him....then we should thank him and find the best replacement possible. I don't see how possibly moving to NY could ever be a good move but if it is...so be it.
