Had a few minutes in his first game, but he's in the big dance now.

Good points and rebounds... I wish his free throw attempts were higher than 3 a game.
So many Kentucky players leave a year too early. Tyler Ulis back down in the G league again even. At least PJ was smart stayed 1 more year moved up to #12 pick.
In 3 years dude will be in Greece
Our 2018 team is a who's who of guys who left too early.
Hamidou Diallo
Wenyen Gabriel
Jarred Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt did the right thing by leaving! Didn’t even play a minute till January 2019! He got to heal up!and Diallo has a solid role on the Thunder when he’s healthy. He’s done a complete 180 since he left and is absolutely an NBA player now
can he drive the ball? Thanks for linking!

Do you follow UK basketball? If so, how do you not know who Keldon Johnson is. I know your going to say you didn’t get to know him because he was here only one year but it’s not like you are hanging out with the players at the mall or something.I honestly had to remind myself who Keldon Johnson was when I first read the thread title.
I follow UK. Always have. The players just don’t stick in my mind like they used too. Maybe I’m getting old.Do you follow UK basketball? If so, how do you not know who Keldon Johnson is. He was one of our best players from last year. You either have some kind of issue you need to get checked for or this is a bad bit.I follow UK. Always have. The players just don’t stick in my mind like they used too. Maybe I’m getting old.
Meh. If you’re guaranteed 1st round I can’t be mad. Keldon will make about $14 million no matter what. He could literally retire at 23 and live lavishly for the rest of his life and not have to work a single day.
He is only guaranteed $3,998,640 and that is before taxes. So saying he will make $14 million, no matter what, is incorrect.
Only $3,998,640? :flushed:He is only guaranteed $3,998,640 and that is before taxes. So saying he will make $14 million, no matter what, is incorrect.

My point is that he was a borderline 1st round pick & was in danger of falling to the 2nd round & receiving no guaranteed money. By staying his sophomore year & working on his weaknesses & improving his brand, I think he could have moved into the lottery, made more per year, & increased the chance for a longer career.that’s possible, but how awesome would it be to have about $12-$14 MILLION in the bank and go play basketball (a game you love ) in BEAUTIFUL Greece for mid 6 figures?
What about you?
Sign me up. Sign my sons up.

I've already prayed for him.Only $3,998,640? :flushed:
For 15 million there's not many places I wouldn't move toIn 3 years dude will be in Greece
As it would have been if he came back.Quit trying to explain reality to the jock sniffers who think its always the smart move to take the first check , clearing about 2 million as opposed to setting your self up for several large paydays.
Next we need a financial genius to lecture me on how I'm some uneducated dummy ( I have 2 college degrees) and then say I'll never see that much money ( I have) . KJ went early , he cashed out and took a good paycheck . Whether that pans out to a real career in the NBA is still a huge question.
The truth is that would be the most likely scenario, regardless of if he came back or not. Most people don’t stick around. Which makes it smart to jump on the opportunity when you have guaranteed money and time.My point is that he was a borderline 1st round pick & was in danger of falling to the 2nd round & receiving no guaranteed money. Just think there is a high probability that he washes out fairly quickly.

How would Tyler Ulis’ position be improved if he had stayed? Maybe you’re saying he should’ve gotten his degree? His prospects as an NBA player were always a stretch. So many Kentucky players leave a year too early. Tyler Ulis back down in the G league again even. didnt you know that if Ulis has stayed another year he would have developed more height? How would Tyler Ulis’ position be improved if he had stayed? Maybe you’re saying he should’ve gotten his degree? His prospects as an NBA player were always a stretch.
How could anyone live on that small amount of money?
I agree. But like others have pointed out he’ll have already made 14 million in the league.
A lot of people don't know this, but they actually give you your entire contract all at once and don't take taxes out or make you pay agent fees if you come back for a sophomore season.
That is simply not true. He has this season and next guaranteed. After that, he’s at the mercy of team options and hoping to get a qualifying offer extended before his 5th season.
Having $4 million dollars before taxes is nothing to sneeze, but a far cry from what he could have been getting with another season of improvement at UK.
Yeah, what a loser.Only $3,998,640? :flushed:
It’s “only” when compared to the 15 million that people are incorrectly throwing around.
