How many Freshman are ready for the NBA? The 2 year instead of the One and Done that most NCAA Head Coaches wanted to go with would be the best for College Basketball. Just Like Football in the NCAA has to wait until there Junior Season and I know Football is different but NCAA basketball should be at least 2 years. That is why the NBA scouts was telling Hagans and Herro before the NCAA Tournament that should both return to Kentucky and work on there game and get stronger next season. Herro has been one that most of the season until mid-SEC schedule was a 2nd round in most 2019 NBA Mock Draft boards and then after the Arkansas game he started climbing up the mock draft boards. Herro has been up and down on the Mock Draft Boards most of the season and before Tourney was siting around #20 - #30 in the 1st round and some were still saying early 2nd round on some Mock Draft boards. That is why it would be good for Herro, KJ, and other players to Test the Waters at the NBA Combine and get feedback and let Coach Cal get his feedback from his sources and pull all information together with Cal and Family and them make a decision. If your still at the lower 1st round #20 - #30 or early 2nd round then make the decision to come back and work on game and get stronger and work your way in the Top 10 or Lottery pick next year.

Was looking at the first year salary for the 13 pick which is 2.5 mil versus 1.4 mil for the number 25 pick, thats a pretty big difference especially when you get to years 2 and 3. Of course others make the argument that the quicker you go the quicker you get into free agency, but the reality is the first contract maybe the only one you get (Teague). I just have a feeling KJ wants to go lotto and we get another year out of him!
