Keion hinting at return?

This whole season was so odd and out of the ordinary, even for Cal.

It seemed like nobody improved very much. Keion looked better as a freshman than he did this year.
I thought he had a fairly solid year considering he missed the first half of the season and had to jump into a major role right away. He pretty quietly averaged 10 and 7 but definitely faded down the stretch, especially defensively.

Is there any way possible he could convince Hardy to come to UK instead of G league.
He's the only shot at an impact player from HS.
I really think he has Murray/Monk potential.

His weaknesses were really exposed this year. He needs to work on shooting, finishing at the rim, rebounding and free throws.

The whole season was just an avalanch and every little flaw bit us in the *** at the wrong times.

Hopefully these guys work hard all summer. Having a junior Brooks, 6th year Senior Mintz, a few sophomores and hopefully a veteran pg will be what we have next year.

He seems to be okay at the elbow and baseline jumper but I cringed at every mid range shot we took after the first 10 games or so. His first priority should be expanding that shot out to the top of the key and corner 3. If he is going to come back he will likely play a good amount of 3 next year and we can’t afford to play three guys who don’t space the floor

Pure speculation, but he was in a video talking about how crazy it really is at UK. Was talking about the TRUE Kentucky experience and how Mintz and Sarr didn't get to experience it this year. I believe he actually enjoys it at UK from the video alone. I'm probably wrong but he had nothing but good things to say about the previous year.

I really don't understand how Keion didn't have more of an impact on this year's team. That said, I would definitely welcome him back.
Same. Once he returned, I expected Cal to run the offense through him because he is very versatile and a good enough ball handler for a few power dribbles inside the 3 pt line. It would have been the same way we used Darius Miller in 2012. Pop him to the free throw line and entry pass. He can turn and shoot, turn and attack and score or distribute lobs when the bigs help up, or draw attention and kick back out to set shooters. The easiest 3 pt shot in basketball is catching "inside out" so you're already facing and squared to the basket.

instead we picked and popped him or put him in the short corner for catch and shoot long 2s.

He needs to return, he stands around to much and has hands of stone. He can’t hold on to the ball and has it taken away way to much. Welcome back young man.

If any of them go to the g-league, what makes them think they will be happy there. If a player can't enjoy being at UK he sure isn't going to like it there.

We need to keep players like Keion and Allen around and add the 5 stars. I rewatched the 2012 team yesterday in a tourney game vs Baylor. We had players like Darius Miller, Doron Lamb, Eloy Vargas and Terrence Jones to go along with AD, Teague and MKG. That is a winning scenario.

Get 1 of Boston and Clarke back and return Brooks and Mintz and the rest of the underclassmen and it will make this season much easier to swallow...not fun...but easier...like cough syrup.

Keion wouldn't even make a D-League roster at this point. I guess he could follow in Briscoe's footsteps and go play in Albania, or something.

I know we didn't have Keion the whole season, but how many people thought we were going to get more than 10 pts 7 rebs
No doubt, Keion couldn’t make a 2-footer this year to save his life.
I know he missed the first 9 games, but were we expecting more than the 10pts 7 rebs & 2 asst we got from Keion this year. Plus he was our leading rebounder.

I think a top 20-25 team. The SEC coaches have figured us out. We will have losses as always in SEC but now the SEC is much better. Bama, Ark, LSU, Tenn are the best going into next season. 5 Seed in the NCAAT and we'll see if we can get past the first weekend.

25-9 season

I actually think the SEC will take a step back next season, as Bama is losing Petty, Jones & Bruner,if not Quinerly, Ark loses Moody to the NBA, Tate & Jalen Smith, LSU will lose Cam Thomas, Smart & Watford to the NBA and UT will not have Keion Johnson, Fulkerson & Pons, plus they may lose Springer. We will definitely be fine in the SEC next year.

Look...this is the kind of bullcrap that turns fans off to Cal and UK.

1. Why is a guy like Brooks even hinting.....why you're even contemplating leaving when you really didn't make a great difference when you came back from another reallllllyyyy long injury timeline...you were just a rotational big man that was not awful but not difference maker on a 9-16 team.
2. You know if you're comign back or not...so just leave and get it over with or just be straight and announce you're back and pissed to get better and never have a season like this again.

The social media/offseason drama is beyond old for tweeners like EJ, Wenyen, Brooks, etc...but at UK we act like there is a legit decision to be made.

Would like to see him lose a few lbs. Lost a bit of his quickness for bulk and it hurt him IMO.
