my guess is someone else has the rights to the game.... maybe its going to get streamed online?

Not sure what is going on, but saw Trendon Watford decided to delay his commitment because the game wouldn't be televised. I was expecting it to be on ESPN+ online but didn't see any schedule of that either. Just weird, because I enjoyed this game far more then McDonald's and just behind the Nike Hoop Summit. Also wonder if ESPN was a little upset with the s**t show that Emmitt Williams and company put on last year to break Lebron's record. For a game that was usually a competitive event, that turned into a clown show late. Likely not reason but last year's was worst of the games I've seen but was hoping to see some kids play.

Ralphdf, is there any chance the Cats land McDaniels? If not him, who you think we get to finish up this years class?

I think Brooks has a chance to follow in the footsteps of Shai and Herro in the way they played so much better than their ranking and were instant contributors. I really like his game and he looks to do everything well. Only thing I don't know about is his D, but that's the case with a lot of HS kids. He has a sweet jumper and is strong at the rim. I think this kid could be special and is a lot better get than say a Hurt.

I can imagine a lineup that is a nightmare for opposing teams with Ashton, Maxey, Brooks, Whitney and EJ.

Agree on the small-ball/stretch 4. I didn’t see the handles or lateral quickness to play elite college sf’s.
Agree this will be our best 5. If we can keep them from getting overwhelmed in March and stay aggressive they will be a handful for any team. I still believe we are going to see a much different EJ in year 2. Like a Ron Mercer year 1-2 pickup.

The more I look at that starting 5, the larger my smile becomes. Especially knowing who’s backing them up! Yea’

Barring surprises, I think 1-3 is set

Hagans
Maxey
Whitney

The bigs become intresting. I think Montgomery starts.

If Richards shows a big improvement, he starts at the center spot and EJ is the 4.

If Richards struggles, EJ starts at Center--and then it's between Sestina and Brooks. My guess would be Brooks. Maybe Sestina to start the season. As the year progresses, either Nick or Brooks figures it out.

By the end of the year, I think we look like this:

G Hagans
G Maxey
F Whitney
F Brooks
F Montgomery

I just think Brooks is too good not to be playing big minutes. He can score pretty well at all levels, including the perimeter. Pull 4's away from the rim.

On defense, Cal switches everything and having quick forwards like Whitney and Brooks really helps with that. Those two should be able to handle switching onto guards.

Quickley, Baker, Sestina, and Richards provide an experienced and talented bench.

Anybody that hasn't seen Brooks in person, go watch him. Tight handle, great form and release on shot, and ability to score shooting or driving. Surprising that anybody wouldn't know this. Agree with you, what are some people looking at? Easy to see why Cal told him he would be used like Knox.

Lol. Indiana fan who wanted Keion Brooks desperately now pretends he's not good enough to play for Kentucky. You really are a psychologically abused fan base.
Let me say it this way. Brooks is not athletic, but highly skilled. That being said, Kentucky recruits athletic prodigies year after year after year. When will he ever start or contribute significant minutes over gifted athleticism with his limited athleticism? He won't, now that's not bad at all. He will be a good 5-8 minute guy that will make a difference. The question is will he be willing to be a 5-8 minute guy?

You just keep getting in deeper. The idea that a 5-star recruit will "someday" be a five minute sub would be ridiculous even if I hadn't watched Brooks perform very well in the high school championships recently. He'll challenge for a starter's role as a freshman and play 20 minutes from Day One.

But thanks for your concern, Hoosier. I know you wish the kid well after he dissed your program. But hey, he's no Joey Brunk, right? You're desperately trying to beat out Ole Miss for a kid who couldn't start for a .500 Butler team.
Did you even read what I posted? "Someday" ??? Did I ever mention Indiana? Nope, not once. The thread is about Brooks, not Indiana. He will be good, but NOT a one-and-done. I suspect 5-8 minutes his freshman year. We shall see.

This kid will be our best player next year. I also told y'all that SGA 2 years ago would be the best player.

there aint any 3 about it....... kids a face up 4 ......... .....but thankfully Whitney is our 3.
Several fans on here after seeing Brooks play say he can play anywhere from the two to the 4. Some say he is more a 3 than a 4. Maybe you want to reconsider your post that he is only a 4. However knowing you I doubt you will ever admit you are wrong.

After a defenseless all star game? Lmao. Stop embarrassing yourself. Mentioning for a 2nd time he could play the 2 is sad really. He turned over the ball several times trying to drive the lane during the high school nationals showing why he’s Got good handles for a 4, not good enough yet to drive on 6’4 , 6’5 college swing forwards.

I’ve yet to see someone I respect on here think he’s gonna play the 3 next season

He will definitely play a lot of the 3 and a lot of the 4. I think him and Whitney will be on the floor together some, and while Whitney is a pure 3 he’s not the shooter Brooks is.

Even if UK doesn't add any additional frontcourt players, I'm fine with a PF rotation of Sestina, Montgomery and Brooks. And, I would anticipate that 2 of the 3 will often be on the floor together - which I also think will work well.
