Why in the world would you say that? A sophomore Brooks could be a huge boost to this team. May take him awhile to get into great game shape but I'm excited to have him back.
Well to start, if he calls Rupp a racist and still continues to play here, he's a hypocrite. Call me uninterested as well and frankly could care less about Keon Brooks and I want him gone...now. Transfer. He should apologize to the Rupp family and BBN or shut the hell up about being BACK. I don't want him BACK, I want him GONE. I could not believe what he said this summer about changing the name of Rupp Arena because he said Rupp was a racist. He's doesn't deserve to play here and Calipari continues to be an idiot. Forget apologies...he needs to GO and GO NOW. Safe sex would be my wish for him.

Uninterested about Keon Brooks you moron.
I know ding dong. If he were truly uninterested about Brooks then why did he post on a Brooks thread? You seem wound a little tight tonight but don’t let it foul up your reading comprehension

Wish in one hand and crap in the other. See which one fills up first

I’ll eat the crow on this one. Didn’t think he’d play. Looking forward to him getting his feet under him over the next couple games.
You had many reasons to doubt it. No need for crow eating, in my opinion. I'm thrilled he is back. At the very least, he gives us another proven scoring option. He could change things for us.

Hate to say it, but you ain’t wrong. He said some terrible things about the man that built this program. He should’ve just passed on commenting. He doesn’t know the facts. He just simply knows the narrative.

Love that he is back.

Getting a player like him at the 4 who can score inside/out is huge and will help Sarr tremendously on the offensive end. I look for Sarr to get alot more consistent or comfortable now.

Should help the defensive end as well helping quicker after our guards get beat by the dribble.

Another thing to consider is he knows how to move the ball and share the ball on offense. I believe our half court offensive is going to look better for sure.

This makes me optimistic about getting to 18 or so wins and maybe having a shot to win the SEC tourney.

^^^Not really sure about the legitimate reason to speculate though. People legitimately get injured all the time and sit out but I don’t know **** so whatever.
Sitting out...sure. The speculation became what it was because he was participating in activities like pro days and running all the drills in practice. Yet not cleared. All the while there was zero timeline or real info.

If he wouldn’t have participated in pro-day I don’t think the speculation would have grown to what it became. Some...sure; but not to that level.

What you listed above is the truth . There were no conspiracy theories . Just legit questions about why a minor injury took so long to heal . There was never any timeline given that was believable , and we had that running / dunking on pro day thing . But many wanted some form of validation because he came back . Whatever ,. I just don’t think he’s a important part of the missing puzzle for this team ... I think this team can improve drastically . It Should . But will it ? The moment Boston gives positive minutes and Jackson stays on the court are when things will click . I say Jackson because of his rim protection, it’s damn good .

I will wait and see how much, if any, Brooks contributes. Whose minutes will he take? My guess, it will be Allen’s. Draft day is in June, and Brooks is a sophomore. The next bumper crop of 5 stars will need minutes.

He screwed up but in all fairness it was stupid for a reporter to even ask the question in the first place. He is a college kid that has no idea what he's talking about. He is in possession of no facts. Why would you even go to him in the first place and put him in that spot.

I highly doubt he’ll be taking Allen’s minutes

Those that keep insisting Brooks will impact the post and play the 4 are not seeing him for who he is. He's 6' 7" and slender. He's a tweener 3-4 with good but not elite skills at either position.

Before some of you prone to dramatizing things that weren't written weigh in, I hope very much he plays well and soon. But, I will be somewhat surprised if he out performs those already playing at these two positions.

Which brings back the old saying “it’s better to say nothing nothing, than to speak and show your stupidity”.

This fans base is always looking for that one injured guy that will be the savior.

He’ll be rusty but if he can still bring just a little bit of offense in spurts he’ll open up the lane and draw defenders so our other guys can score easier. That’s all we need from him starting out.

He's not going to be a savior to this team. But, assuming he's in shape and ready to play, he will certainly help this team be better.

I agree with that as well. Whoever asked the kid a loaded question like that, deserves heavy criticism.

He wasn't an impact recruit and had one game of note last year. I'm glad for him and the team but am not expecting an immediate impact.

1 game ? really ?
11 pts / 8 reb. (in 21 minutes) half of a game
15 pts. / 5 reb. / 1 steal / 1 block (16 minutes) Not even half a game
10 pts. / 4 reb. / 1 block / 1 steal / 2 assist (26 minutes)
8 pts. / 7 reb. / 1 steal / 1 block / 1 assist (16 minutes)
10 pts. / 3 reb. / 2 steals (27 minutes)

There is 5, and only averaged 15 minutes per game. As a freshman who didn't get a bunch of minutes. Maturity and another year in the system, he can / will only improved. IQ did not do much his freshman year, but you see what happened in his sophomore year. It is a shame everyone wants players to stick around and mature, but when they do, and are not as successful as the other freshman, they are labeled as "not any good" or "will not be a factor". Maybe them hearing that from fans is why some of them transfer out. It could be not EVERYONE improves at the same rate, some take a bit longer than others, ESPECIALLY big men. Nah, that couldn't be it, if they do not star their 1st year and leave, they suck. No, posters like you suck and never happy.

Wow. That took some time to put together. Well done.

He is not a "big man".

I'm glad he's back, how much he helps us remains to be seen. Last year...47% FG%, 26% 3 PT %, 63% FT %, 3.2 RPG, 6 total assists, 25 turnovers, 11 steals. Those numbers are just OK IMO. One thing he generally did was play within himself, something a couple of our guys can't say about their Freshman year.

So now Cal has a serious log jam at the wing position. We have five guys who are either 6-6 or 6-7.....add Toppin who is 6-9 but plays more like a wing. Something's got to give. Obviously Fletcher is our 11th man off the bench. Some guys aren't going to be too happy with their PT.

Hence multiple transfers when they look at what’s coming in next year
