I'm all for postponing the tournament, but that doesn't mean that we can't have Selection Sunday. Every team was able to complete their regular season, so it's entirely feasible to honor the teams that deserved to be in the tournament. Auto-bids can be given to the winners of the already played conference tournaments and to the #1 seeds of those tournaments that haven't been played to reward them for winning the regular season championship. Sure, you will lose some of the bid stealers, but overall, this is an entirely fair way to honor the season that was. Even if they never play the tournament, these kids can at least say they were good enough to make it.

Sign my petition to keep Selection Sunday!

Seriously they should extend it too. Give all the team 10 minutes of air time. Make it an all day affair. Announce teams then review each one... give them the credit they deserve especially for teams like Rutgers who hasn’t been there in a while.

Would be great to still have the show. Hang a banner and the players/staff still get some sort of memento (ring, watch, etc).

I would guess that if the NCAA doesn't do this, ESPN will. They have a lot of time to fill . Worst job in America right now might be the ESPN programming director.

With someone who always enjoys life vis concerts and sporting events this is an interesting time. Had to tickets to a lot of events in March. Maybe just a sign that I do too much

Just heard on sportscenter that they are having the selection show. I assume they are right and that would be awesome.
Having the ESPN talking heads select vs the NCAA Selection Committee select is a huge difference. I'm assuming the selection committee is no longer on the clock.

Since they already have so much air time booked up over the next few weeks, I think it would make sense to do the selection show, then use some of that time to do a 5-10 min "season retrospective" on each of the teams showing their path to selection. At the very least it would be some sort of final resolution for fans and at least the reward of "we made the tournament" for the players - even if they don't get to participate in the games.

I guess they will use Lunardis bracket

It's only official if the Selection Committee announces it. The drought continues.

I think the NCAA is dropping the ball on this. There’s no reason not to have a selection show.

Yup. Maybe they dont want to rub salt in the wound to the teams and just want to in no uncertain terms make that cancellation decision and then go dark and hope the conversation dies with it.

Dont have many specifics off hand, but feel like Emmert over the years has been on the wrong side of major decisions that seemed fairly obvious to the school/fan/bystander, so this is just par for the course.

they need selection sunday then on the days and times in which the games were supposed to be played they should do an hour feature on the teams that were scheduled to play that day.

There will be nothing else on TV and over the next couple of weeks and people will be working from home.
