Which of our 28 commits will be the high caliber players and which of our 28 won't be?
It's not complicated. Yes, it only takes 30 seconds to judge if a guy has P5 talent or not. It's people who don't understand anything that always try to overcomplicate things. When you truly understand something, it becomes simple, and you can evaluate things quickly. There's many areas where this applies in my life because I have the cognitive capabilities and take the time and effort to truly understand things to begin with. I guess this is something you wouldn't understand.
And he never looked very fast doing it until the ball was in the air. Clark isn’t Randy moss but he doesn’t have to be. We’re short on length at WR.

Nope. I'm the guy that understands you don't just "formation" defenses out of what they want to do when your offense gets nearly zero from the passing game.

Article in a Montana paper said 4.46 at the NU camp. No idea what his 40 really is. It said Rhule pulled him aside after watching him in drills and ran him 1 on 1, offering him on the spot afterward. Good enough for me, he's 6'5 205 at a high school in Bozeman. So he's going to be 6'5 220 by our first game after time in our program.

if you believe a defense will put 8+ in the box regardless of offensive formation, you're wrong.

we finished 2nd in the league in rushing mostly because we formationed defensive players out of the box with spread looks.
we sure as **** couldn't just line up and run right at people out of power formations.

Yeah, you should stop digging a hole for yourself on this one. 11 minus 4 equals 7. It was a pretty simple point and you keep doubling down as if defenses have 12 or 13 guys on the field.

Digging? I'm only saying you can draw the x's and o's where ever you like. The defense isn't gonna do want you want if you can't throw the ball.

Sure, after the snap. But the original point was that even with man coverage if you split 2x2 the D can’t have 8 or 9 in the box, unless they want to leave someone uncovered. So in that way they are doing what you want pre-snap.
Shavon was a very good player. But he played on the hard wood, not grass.
After the snap is all that counts. Especially when the defense knows you can't throw the ball.
So again, you draw the x's and o's wherever you want. If the defense knows you ain't/can't gonna do **** out of those formations, they're not gonna do what you want.

Ok, let’s say a defense follows your strategy and leaves a WR uncovered. The QB throws a quick screen and you’ve got 2 on 1 in space. Seems like not a great strategy.
Does the defense respect the offense enough to worry about the screen pass?
here's a little tidbit your wife probably knows about football but you clearly don't:
guys spread wide to cover receivers aren't coming downhill to stop the run. the offense gets a head start & the 8th and 9th 'box' defenders have more ground to cover after the snap.
which is why it works.
and why you see it on every possession of every game on every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
the top rushing team in the country is a spread team with a <60% passer at quarterback. guess what they don't face every play not because of "respect" - an ambiguous and meaningless word you insist on using - but because of formations:

500 minutes to evaluate 1000 players. Shoot start a message board of your own and rate the players. Scout sold to 247 for like $9 million. If you have that much jack and your still spending your days on Rivals free message board, good on you.

They said that Benning and others had watched him and pestered Rhule to offer him. Rhule watched his video but wanted to see him in camp. Offered him on the field after working him out. Cool story that hopefully has a great run for 4-5 years more.
Article from Montana where they interview him says he did really good at a 7 on 7 in Boise and got interviewed afterward. Said Nebraska was his dream school. Omar Hales found out and watched tape. After watching tape they asked him to come for the spring game. Didn't make the spring game but camped here. Pretty cool story.
