Pass.. Logan is our man

Logan ran 24 times against Iowa. Frost knew it was just one game and QB run was the only chance we had. In a normal game where he has to pass instead of run the results would look more like the Iowa fourth quarter.

I recall USC getting crushed by Iowa in the Holiday Bowl a few years back, and the Trojans were led by an underwhelming QB. He's welcome to prove me wrong, but first impression wasn't great.

Slovis had 260 yards and two tds before he got hurt. The backup sucked.

He was lighting Iowa up before he got hurt in that game.

22/30 for 260 and 2 TDs… I know that sucks, but I’d be happy with it at Nebraska.

So I wonder what these guys think of Pitt possibly getting Slovis?

exactly. At least these guys are known quantities to Whipple. There are going to be QBs still become available in the portal over really the next 4-5 months. Ideally you want a guy for spring ball but if he's the right guy you take him in the early summer as well.

Getting another guy after Spring is fine but they need someone in here before Spring, very important

Uh color me concerned. Seems like everyone gets that we are “Short Runway U.” And want no part of this experiment to “Save the Buyout Cash”

The other portal QBs went to better programs. This one left to be with his GF. There are plenty left. When you haven’t made a bowl game in half of a decade you don’t get pick of the litter.

And most anyone will be better than Smothers whom can’t throw or play in the pocket.

You're confusing Smothers' ugly throwing motion with an inability to throw. The kid did a nice job delivering balls accurately and on time to receivers against Iowa. Yeah he doesn't have a rocket arm but IF Adrian would have had Smothers' ability to find an open guy and get him the ball he would have at least doubled the number of games he won at NU.

Smothers had two costly turnovers. About the same as Martinez in that department.

The fumble was both on Smothers and Belt. Belt tried to hang on to the ball and Smothers SHOULD have let him have it. There was a huge hole. The INT was due to the WR reading the coverage differently than Smothers. IF Falck continues his route instead of breaking it off, it's likely that was a completion. Option routes are prone to those kind of ugly results.
