Awe, Coach Self seems to have improved quite a bit. Gold medal vs’s Cal’s silver... He sure didn’t need several years of his system to prove that one. Won the last 3 vs Cal. Good luck this year though, it’ll be one of the best.

They just gonna run out of time. What's the head to head record? Go check that and come back and we can discuss championships vs helms titles as well

Like these that you donated for second place in 2012?

I’m still just happy to make the FF that year, all bonus.

It's good that monkey is on someone else's back for a change.

It's been on Duke's back the last two seasons more than Kansas. At least that's what I've seen. Hasn't worked out too well for them.

Their schedule is hot garbage outside if UK and depleted Villanova

Michigan State and Tennessee in the NIT (potentially) shouldn't be bad. They did lose to ASU in Kansas last year, so who knows? I'm not sure how the rest of the Big 12 is supposed to line up, but I'm sure they'll cruise to another conference title.

As long as they abide by this:

That’s right. The Jayhawks will go undefeated this season. Not only will they go unbeaten, but they will mow over the competition. Let’s face it, anything less will be a huge disappointment for Kansas Basketball.

Because when they lose early in the tournament, as they do almost every year, there doesn't seem to be a peep from them... and then it's on to next year.

So there you have it, anything less than 40-0, certainly less than a title, needs to be brought up on Self.

I think Kansas basketball is always a huge disappointment.

Remember when they had Wilt Chamberlain and an undefeated season... only to lose in triple overtime in the national championship to a team of short white guys?

If they couldn't pull off an undefeated season then, they aren't doing it now.
We’re not even going to get close to a perfect season, a very strong one I hope, but perfect will be impossible.

Here ya go Jailhawk...you’ll be a hit for sure (and I don’t mean that in the typical KU punch your girlfriend or LaGerald Vick way).

Seriously, Kansas is not going to go 40-0. The gap has closed for most everyone. If you’re good, you will make regardless of where you went to school. All it takes is talent and a small chance.

Kansas is like Indiana.

Getting a raging hard on over regular season wins over Kentucky.

Never mind that 2012 National Championship thing.

How's the wheat crop doing this year Jayhawks?

Just replying to a old score:)
You tried moving the goalposts. The original boast was Self’s 3 straight wins over Cal. When I countered with the 32 point beat down Cal laid on Self, you tried using a 30 year old score when neither were coach of the respective teams. That’s cool though, our arsenal is full. Keep swinging!

Don’t care, I’ve sent plenty of baby grainhawks to Kentucky...” Don’t eat the bread in Kentucky”, that’s my motto:)))

“The Jayhawks return as one of four teams to make the Final Four last season”

Unbelievable detective skills from Kansas fans. They are just one of four teams from last year’s Final Four!

They will be good but they have no chance at being anywhere close to 40-0 . I think they lose 6-7 games but win their conference of coarse and lose in the elite 8 or sweet 16. I do think they should be preseason top 5 but that has more to do with not many loaded and experienced teams . Some teams have top end talent with no experience like Duke and some teams have tons of experience with not a ton of talent like Tennessee but UK is the only top team with both. That is why I expect UK to be much better then anyone else this season. IF we hadn't gotten travis it would be different but he put us on another level then anyone else and he will be a POY canidate IMO.

This writer disagrees with you and gets paid to do it.

Let's circle back on Vick because his return could leapfrog Kansas over Kentucky. He's had a bumpy career at KU, but his double back unquestionably strengthens a behemoth.

See you guys after you hang your Big XII banner then disappear in March after a second round loss, per usual when Self has expectations to win, and then do this whole song and dance again next summer.

I really don't see the appeal in Kansas. Bill Self always fields a competitive team, but people calling this Kansas team the #2 team in the country...I just don't see it.

I didn't expect them to make the final four last year either but you never know.

Self is without a doubt the most overrated coach in D1 college basketball. Top recruiting classes every year and only one NCAAT title, plus numerous early exits from the tournament.

Is this a serious post? Calipari has one title and has literally had twice as many NBA players and superstar recruits.

16 of the first 17

All those wins vs Ted Owens in the 70s sure are relevant to today.

More relevant would be that KU leads in the modern era. Despite having to play three games against UK's two best rosters ever (with two of KU's weakest rosters in recent memory).

At least Cal knows how to beat Wichita State and avoid early flame outs in the Tournament. Title argument is irrelevant when he has no more than Cal and was lucky there was a missed free throw or Cal would be having 2 about right now. Self has coached in a major conference school since 2001 while Cal hasn't even been here a full 10 years yet. That's too bad if your coach given how long he's been at Kansas and can't bring in the number of studs Cal can at a school like Kentucky.

2 of your weakest teams? The one that got to the National Title? That doesn't say much about your coach then if his stronger teams aren't getting there for him. I don't think having 5 star recruits would make that big of a difference under Self if the weaker teams go further.

As you well know, the best team rarely wins the title. And quit acting like we have 25 year old men playing against college players. Our NBA guys are raw as hell. The supposed GOAT hasn't had much success molding a new team every year. I'm taking K. Self always has a perfect balance of talented experience like Graham and mason to go with highly ranked recruits and continually flames out. When Cal has that combination you see years like 2012 and 2015. We're going to be closer to those teams than the teams of pretty much all freshman.

And for the record, we have double the final fours during the Cal era than any other team. By far the most tournament wins, while missing tournament one of those years.
