Just look at the WUGs and what Selden did when 100%....or see what he does when he's on a bum ankle like he was last night. The evidence is pretty clear.

He's healthy and he plays really well. He isn't and he doesn't - unfortunately he's more often NOT healthy than he IS healthy.

he will be a complete beast in the korean league. probably. can always count on KU fans to rally around any excuse.

ku despite having all this experience. despite having extra practice time. looks basically the same from last year.

Comparable to Div II? Except for quality of play

What Division would you rate the Jayhawks performance against UK last year?

You guys beat a Division 2 school by 23 points on your home court.

UK beat you guys by 32 on a neutral site and held you to 26 points less Pitt State scored on your home court.

Does that make you guys NAIA?

Temple beat you guys by 25... I guess you guys moved up to Div 3 that game..?

If Seldom Selden's ankle was that bad why would Self be so stupid as to play him and risk further injury? GMAFB

On Monday afternoon, Bill Self was asked about the health of junior Wayne Selden, Jr. With the start of the exhibition season nearing, Selden, Jr., still isn't 100% healthy.

You would have to ask him, but he hasn't missed any time. He hasn't taken any days off. He just doesn't look quite as explosive to me. But he would tell you it's fine and a hundred percent. But there's no excuse, but the thing about with Wayne Selden, Jr., is he practiced a good portion of our pre-season not being very healthy. Doctors said that's what he should do and fight through it, but I don't think he quite had the explosion this pre-season as what he would have or what he did this summer.

If it is a bum ankle this year, what has been the excuse the past few years?

He has been injured almost all of his career. Before the ankle it was a lingering meniscus. He has been disappointing and the only time he appeared to be the Selden everyone thought he was coming out was this past summer when he was finally healthy and he dominated. Then he got hurt again. I fear for his career honestly.

Shame, I was a big fan of his in high school, he had the NBA body as an incoming frosh.

at some point KU fans will realize that the competition they faced in the WUG was a complete joke. and thats why certain players looked as good as they did.

Your agenda is tiresome. He looked good because he was explosive and he doesn't anymore. The competition level has nothing to do with it.

I think there were many Kentucky fans rooting against USA this summer. Un-American!

keep telling yourself that. who is the one with the agenda? i get it...it has to be about injury. its an excuse that you can justify. coming to terms that seldon just isnt that good means...well...ku fans are not ready to face that.

I would be fine with that because I am not delusional like you assume we all are. Sometimes an injury is just an injury.

anyone who thinks seldon is as good as murray or diallo is as good as skal is very much delusional. ku fans are terrible at evaluating talent. but dont worry...ul fans are still the worst.

I love how KU fans come to our board and accuse UK fans of having an agenda. Here's a great solution: stay on your own freakin' board. No one is forcing you to read this board and certainly no one forced you to comment. Get real.

I'd want to hang around a program that's actually trending upward, too.

For a school that's so loathed, opposing fans sure do like to chum it up with us.

The NAIA is independent of the NCAA divisions. It's competitive levels are pretty comparable to D2 schools.

Ku fans are convinced Svi will leave Kansas and enter the NBA draft after this college basketball season. I haven't figured out why they think this kid is that good yet, but i'm sure they are right about this and we're all wrong. I will never figure out why they still have so much hope for Seldon. That kid is not getting any better than he currently is and it's time for KU fans to accept Seldon for the talent he is. As a Kentucky fan, i'm happy Seldon plays for KU. He will always choke when it's time for the popcorn to pop. If KU is relying on Laden Lucas to be their scoring in the post, they are even more screwed than i thought. I can't understand why KU and Self are having so much trouble recruiting a center. The starting job is there to be had with any kid 6'10 and taller with a pulse. At this point, i'm not even talking ELITE type of big men. I'm glad you guys somehow talked Bragg into being a Jayhawk or things would be even worse in the post than all of us thought. Bragg aint even a post type of player, but with their lack of talent in the post, he better learn how to play in the post fast if KU wants to do anthing in the Ncaa tourney.

You are right. I went back and looked. Many of the posts are the UK fans that post on the PHOG. We welcome them. Most of the post were discussing how good Murray really is. Read for yourself. There isn't a negative tone to the posts.

You may be on the PHOG more than me...Does Kentucky even have a Dentistry School?
I've been on the phog 1 time and that was 5 minutes ago. I clicked on the link that YOU provided. So you WERE on the Phog, you just didn't see this ridiculous thread. And it has nothing to do with dentistry school.

How smart is the coaching staff to play someone with a bad ankle, in an exhibition game? Doesn't make sense to me.

That is kind of funny. There was no thread on PHOG yesterday about your game with Ottawa University. Ottawa is 12 miles away from Lawrence. Nobody cared. And, yet on Rupp the number one thread tonight was UK bashing Louisville, like every night but the second thread was the Kansas game vs. Pittsburgh State. I think the obsession is more on UK's part than Kansas.
False. What was this? http://www.scout.com/college/kansas/forums/2481-hoops-talk/14249821-ottawa-vs-uk

But did you read the posts? The were mostly complementary to Kentucky. There are many UK fans that regularly post on PHOG posting about the team.

I think we are getting a little too emotionally invested into these exhibition games. They are really just practices. Albany and NJIT will get UK tuned up for Puke while Puke isn't even playing tourney capable mid majors like UK is so UK should be more tested when the two play. As for Kansas that game is so deep into the season I'm not putting much attention into it yet.

I wouldn't say "many". There are a few regulars, and I mostly lurk. I do enjoy the banter over there and find some hilarious back and forth. It is wildly unmoderated so pretty much anything goes. Makes for some colorful threads especially when EDF is involved.

You realize Ottawa plays in the NAIA. For reference it goes from toughest to weakest:

1. NCAA Division 1
2. NCAA Division 2 - Pitt State plays here
3. NCAA Division 3
4. NAIA - Ottawa plays here

I'm aware. The point is "that little team played hard!" isn't an explanation for a close game against inferior opponents. If you're trying to argue the gap between DII and NAIA, you have bigger problems. Neither should be an issue.

My point ... there are Kentucky fans in this thread acting like the barnyard rooster after Kentucky's thrashing of basically high school competition (sure NAIA may have some comparable to D2 teams, but Ottawa isn't one of them). I'm not arguing that Kentucky is not one of the more talented teams in D1, but to judge KU off an exhibition is a little silly. I ensure you the effort you witnessed against Pitt State will not be the same effort you see once the season starts or on January 30th.

EDF and Cousin Eddy are NOT Kansas fans. Not sure how to classify them.
