This isn't meant to upset anyone but hope BBN does realize Arthur Kaluma is from the same "school" that Shaedon Sharpe attended. So the world works in mysterious ways.....maybe a Dream Christian Academy alum would actually suit up and play for the Cats.
I’ve seen people say oh he sucks at shooting he can’t do this he can’t do that. He played almost 70 games has experience and is another good player for a roster that need them, sign me up

The "best" part of that is how it's just blatant tampering. He's not graduated. He didn't enter the Portal but schools have reached out. This is where Kentucky is right now--other programs poaching a guy so brash and open about it and know Cal won't do **** about it.

At some point you need to fire back and start showing you give a damn or move aside for those who will.
What can you do about it? The NCAA have shown they won't do anything

He’s better than mediocre. He’s a step above Livingston. Creighton had one of the best starting 5s in the country. And he was a big part of it
The people acting like they don’t want him are crazy, good piece who has issues on the Court like everybody does but will help your team

Right. Some of them were pissed it looked like Keshod Johnson was coming and they were NOT going after Kaluma. Now some are upset they have reached out. I'll take Kaluma in a heartbeat on this team.

Especially with bradshaw having a physical guy like Kaluma would help a lot

National media guys are making fun of UK and these players see it and aren't coming here.We can't even keep scrubs like Cj,Lance and Collins around.UK basketball is dead right now.
Collins leaving made the most sense seeing what he went through and seeing his Dad pass in front of him would be brutal. I hope he has a fantastic career and wish him well but can't fault him for wanting out. It was a brutal year personally for him with grandfather passing after the season too.

I don’t really care right now. I’m sure I’ll be excited to start the season, but man right now I’m just not in to it like I used to be. I don’t think it’s just Cal or this off season; it’s the entire college basketball world currently.

Need to promise him a starting job and get him some cash.

Same with Reeves.

Plug them in with Wagner, Edwards, and Bradshaw and there’s your starting five.

Dillingham gets starter minutes as sixth man.

Onyenso, Sheppard, and Thiero finish out the 9 man rotation.

Bring in a couple of projects (like maybe the Hart kid) to round out the roster.

At this point, that’s the best we can hope for.

Creighton fan here.

There are two Kalumas: Good Art and Bad Art. Good Art plays within the team, is a versatile defender, and does everything go make your team better. Bad Art hoists too many 3s, turns the ball over every time he dribbles more than 3 times, and keeps doing those things because improvement there is what the NBA has told him he needs to show, so by God he’s gonna do it regardless of outcome.

He’s a good kid who’s convinced beyond reason that he’s great, so to get Good Art to show up it takes an intense amount of attention from the coaching staff to keep him on track.

I don’t think he’d get that with you guys. So my advice is, watch what you wish for with him because he’s gonna get that UK jersey on and think that now he’s on his way to the Association.
Sounds like the perfect replacement for Livingston. Hell, he sounds like he IS Livingston.

Anyone who says he sucks at shooting has never watched him play or is just stupid. He’s not a lights out shooter by any means but he’s a 4 man who’s a scorer in a multitude of ways who can also hit the open 3. Not exactly common in the college game. He is not “mediocre”. He was part of what i think was the best starting 5 in the country last season and there were mocks that had him in the 1st round at some points.

Thanks for the post, unfortunately for Kentucky we don’t have many options and Kaluma appears to be the best of what’s left

Cow couldn't drag his own pot belly across the table for an extra donut. So don't hold out hope the dunce has any moves but his old ones. We are young, we are short handed. Ok but why dummy?

At this point, Cal… .scratch that, Cal can just sit his *** at home, Chin and Orlando need to get this kid, Miranda, Reeves and another multi skilled guard that can shoot.

Cal's laziness is going to bite the program again. We’re in worse shape now than we were in 09 when he took over. Unreal.

I don’t like the idea of promising anyone anything, but especially starting or at least X minutes. Whss as t if you just don’t “bring it” compared to another guy ; and you can only promise 5 guys to start so you are going to have a hard time building a good bench if those guys don’t at least have hope they may play more.

Because you have to do that with Cal. He plays favorites, especially with kids that are NBA draft bound. He will stick with them until they more than prove they are not ready.
These kids he has coming in this year aren't coming here because they like UK and they damn sure aren't coming here because Cal is a great coach, they are coming here because Cal sold them on something. Shall we guess what that something is?

No way in hell does Cow allow one of his prized recruits to come off the bench. Not saying you're wrong but that's just how it is.
Dillingham isn’t a typical cal player either, he is a player cal usually avoids at all costs, so we will have to see

the personal loss that Collins experienced last year was terrible
can't blame him for wanting a fresh start
hopefully he will receive a lot of playing time + some good coaching

a walk on could replace Livingston
Yeah losing Livingston wasn't the problem as he didn't do much and played out of position.Losing Oscar was what killed is as no other good big man options are left except Nelson who isn't interested.

I don't blame Reeves. He knows Cal loves his NBA freshmen and Cal will give them 35 Mina game. He will be "riding pine".
When you exaggerate, you lose all credibility.

Only 2 FR have averaged 35mpg, Knight & Murray.
In more recent years (6 seasons) the only FR even over 30mpg are:
Wallace 32.1 (earned)
Boston 30.3 (wtf, not earned)
Maxey 34.5 (earned)
Herro 32.6 (earned)
K.Johnson 30.7 (earned)
SGA 33.7 (earned)
Knox 32.4 (earned)

While other highly rated FR played much less than 30mpg:
Livingston 22.4
Onyenso 3.2
Collins 6.1
Hopkins 5.3
Jackson 20.7 (why didn't he play more?)
Whitney 12.8 (still too much)
Brooks 15.2
Juzang 12.3
Quickley 18.5
Montgomery 15.1
Vanderbilt 17.0
Richards 14.7
Sure, most weren't as highly rated (not top 10), they were all still I think top 40.

But your exaggerated point being, that Cal will give the guys he thinks may be OAD a longer leash (more chances to fail), yes I think we can all agree with that unfortunately.

Nelson released his final list of schools and UK wasn’t on the list.
I think the wording was "initial" list implying it could be expanded at some point. While it did sound like he didn't have a lot of clear interest in UK earlier, Pilgrim kind of implied it could have been to the uncertainty of Oscar returning and maybe he'd be more open now that Oscar is gone.

Gotcha. I thought that was his final list. My bad.

Doesn’t really matter, it is very doubtful we get him.

He is like schierman last year and wants money, I don’t think Kentucky will have a shot at all
