Didn't even think we were a factor in his recruitment anymore. This is good news.
Because the people who "floated" that info around doesn't have a gd clue what UK is doing and who they are talking to. It hasn't been all peaches and cream I will be the first to admit. But let the movie play out before rating it. KSR doesn't know jack **** and there is a reason their *** got tossed to the curb. Why a lot of posters here suddenly worship MJ because he is negative toward UK , more so Cal is crazy to me. We know he never knew half of what he claimed, now, he is simply a scourned , *** hurt wannabe insider.

Not saying you are a MJ rider, just that my point that a lot of people took the KSR info that UK had no shot at Kaluma as truth.

Burks is way better than he's been given credit on this board
100% agree with you….however the team as currently constructed needs at minimum 2 veteran pieces in the playing rotation if not 3. Otherwise you are asking the team to accomplish something historically significant that’s never happened in the history of the sport with no Juniors or Seniors on the team.

Totally agree. Too many people tend to look at the number of stars beside a players name as the be all. Kids improve. Some more than others, and a summer can make a world of difference, especially if the kid gets with a really good trainer and works on his weakness. A lot of ratings are old and not updated reflecting a kids work he has put in.

They shouldn’t be mutually exclusive. Burks is a developmental piece who should be in college for 2-3 years & won’t be much of a factor next year with, or, without more additions. Kaluma is a one year rental who would be long gone by the time Burks sees any significant floor time.

Burks will, at best, get backup minutes at the 4 next season whether we get Kaluma, or, not. We have zero depth there & don’t even have an actual PF on the roster. If he’s good enough to contribute, the minutes are there & Kaluma won’t stand in the way of that. I don’t doubt that Kaluma’s visit is the reason for Burks delaying his decision. But, it’s makes no sense, IMO.
don't know about all of the delays but if you watch Burks on his tapes, he is long & lanky and can handle the ball. He looks like a very nice player. Even if by some miracle Kaluma did pick UK, there is plenty of minutes to go around for Burks. He could play either forward spot, & if this insane coach ever changed anything up & went small, Burks could play in the middle. His quickness would be hard for bigger, less mobile centers to guard

The fact that we got Kaluma's first visit says something IMO.

With Bama and Arkansas duking it out over Nelson, might be the perfect storm for us getting Kaluma's first visit and locking him up.

Kaluma + Somto and I am 100% back on board.
I’ll be 60% back, we still need some shooting. More depth wouldn’t hurt just for practice and options later on down the line.

You guys are putting too much on his shoulders.

If you’re expecting Kaluma to save you you’re putting him in the worst possible position to succeed.

You're looking at it the wrong way.

Hear me out. Say you flip a coin. The coin is weighted perfectly. You'd expect it to land 50% of the time on one side and 50% the time on the other. Now if we know anything about statistics we know that this doesn't mean if the first flip is heads, the 2nd flip will be tails.

What I'm trying to say is, if every coin you've flipped so far is coming up tails and you're really wanting a heads, the more times you flip it tails, the better chance the next one is heads! So striking out on all the early portal-goers we offered means we have a better chance at the tail end!

So if we truly were after 5 targets, for example, and we missed on them all. (Which, shucks that's some bad luck as theirs only a 3% chance of that happening) Then we're really likely to get our next one! It's only a ~1% chance you'd flip tails 6 times in a row.

Like I said, hear me out, think about it, it's not that crazy!
But… Cal is flipping the coin…Stats be damned!
