Get Kaluma and maybe reeves changes his mind since he wouldn’t be the only returner. I know I know reeves is gone let me dream for a minute

Glad we are getting a visit but not sure he will come here.

I'd be fine with him and somto and one good shooter. Burks and Hart would be nice bonuses but not needed as calipari isn't gonna play them anyways.

About as good a outcome as there could be with everything that’s happened this offseason

The fact that we got Kaluma's first visit says something IMO.

With Bama and Arkansas duking it out over Nelson, might be the perfect storm for us getting Kaluma's first visit and locking him up.

Kaluma + Somto and I am 100% back on board.

That's good news that he's visiting. But we're 0'fer in the portal so I'm not getting my hopes up.
You're looking at it the wrong way.

Hear me out. Say you flip a coin. The coin is weighted perfectly. You'd expect it to land 50% of the time on one side and 50% the time on the other. Now if we know anything about statistics we know that this doesn't mean if the first flip is heads, the 2nd flip will be tails.

What I'm trying to say is, if every coin you've flipped so far is coming up tails and you're really wanting a heads, the more times you flip it tails, the better chance the next one is heads! So striking out on all the early portal-goers we offered means we have a better chance at the tail end!

So if we truly were after 5 targets, for example, and we missed on them all. (Which, shucks that's some bad luck as theirs only a 3% chance of that happening) Then we're really likely to get our next one! It's only a ~1% chance you'd flip tails 6 times in a row.

Like I said, hear me out, think about it, it's not that crazy!

Exactly you either want the first visit or the last visit, I would still want burks, I really like his upside and a shooter but that would be a good save from the staff

I think the big question is would kaluma come here to come off the bench? If the lineup most of us are projecting holds true then he would probably be backing up Edwards or Bradshaw. For him to start, we probably have to play a big lineup and move Edwards to the 2 which would mean Dillingham would probably come off the bench. Just my 2 cents

He shouldn’t be backing anyone

So, is this why Burks postponed his announcement?
They shouldn’t be mutually exclusive. Burks is a developmental piece who should be in college for 2-3 years & won’t be much of a factor next year with, or, without more additions. Kaluma is a one year rental who would be long gone by the time Burks sees any significant floor time.

Burks will, at best, get backup minutes at the 4 next season whether we get Kaluma, or, not. We have zero depth there & don’t even have an actual PF on the roster. If he’s good enough to contribute, the minutes are there & Kaluma won’t stand in the way of that. I don’t doubt that Kaluma’s visit is the reason for Burks delaying his decision. But, it makes no sense, IMO.

A freshman Edwards at the 2 - now there's some fun to look forward to.

Just looked at ON3 transfer rankings and they have him ranked #70! Guys like Wheeler, Dontrez Styles, and Jaden Bradley ranked ahead of him. I would peg Kaluma at at least top 15, his game is very very unique for one his size.
They factor in years of eligibility left.
