That's actually a very good 40 for an NFL safety.
I think he's trying to make a case for himself as a corner and there are NFL teams that like his length at that spot. I suppose he would be guy would could match up with bigger receivers and split out TEs. In terms of getting drafted, Kalu had a good day. Now if he runs better at his pro day, he could really move up the charts for some teams. I bet he could go as high as round four in that case.

My guess his playing weight is bigger as he's trimmed down for the NFL scouting drills. Can tackle/play in the box and has descent coverage skills for a safety, in my opinion not fast/fluid enough for corner. Another potential diamond in the rough.

Why would the best safety in the country want to make a case for himself as a cornerback? ;)
