Takes over a 4-8 Washington team - goes 11-2 in year 1

Matt Rhule takes over a 4-8 team - goes ???? in year 1

Will be super interesting to establish the pecking order of BIG coaches in coming years

Rhule is our man but I’ve got a lot of respect for DeBoer. This guy coached HS ball and has Midwest roots. A hell of a coach!

If Trev and Admiral didn’t land Matt Rhule, I wanted DeBoer. The guy is a winner everywhere he goes. DeBoer was the one responsible for Indiana being so good in 2019. Tom Allen hasn’t been the same since he left.

Washington physically dominated Michigan State last year, and then capped off an 11-2 year to beat Texas.

We are in for an incredibly physical game when we play Washington in 2024 or 2025.

Wow, a team that has only won 25% of its games against power 5 teams over the last half decade couldn't possibly overpay an average coach. I just cannot fathom how many cycles of failure we have gone through over the last 20 years and people are still so sure the next guy will work out, to the point that they attack logical people who assume based on precedent that it won't work out, or will take a while to at least become .500. Are you all going to be happy paying Rhule 12.5 million in 6 years when he wins 8 games?

I'm not paying him, so I don't worry about how much he is paid. Nor do I give a **** how much was paid to frost or riley to go away.

I’m impressed that you’ve put down the Nintendo controller to add some thoughts today, now wipe the Cheeto dust from your neck fat and start searching for a job.

Do you care about the stadium only being 75% full while the last generation to see us win something is dying everyday, about kids not choosing to come to Nebraska because we can't compete financially because we are paying fired coaches 50 million a year. Guys on this board profess to love the program yet they have no problem seeing donations and fans hard earned money siphoned away due to mismanagement, incompetence, and straight greed. By the time the mob is angry at the product it is already too late and the guy has been extended another 10 million and their buyout is 25 million. The contract is better backloaded than front but it still doesn't cover the fact that Rhule had complete leverage over us, like Frost, mainly because we had dug such a deep hole in the **** with year after year of embarrassment in the football program.

I find it interesting that fans don't care about the one thing that determines whether we will be good or not, money available to the program and not lining the pockets of Coaches, Matt Davidson's, ADs. It was like Trev decided, "we all have it good, we're all wealthy because these hicks keep showing up to watch this ****** product, but I better just throw money at a guy that the fans will like so they leave us alone for a while".

There will always be money to pay football coaches in the state of Nebraska, no matter how many times it gets ****** up.
