Nobody discussing the PSU All-American middle blocker's transfer to Nebraska? This is huge. If Caffey gets her extra year of eligibility, the rotation is solid at every position, and the team is deep at every position.

Hadn't seen this anywhere but would shore up immediate need. Would make sense since I see Meyer is throwing with track team and doing quite wellNobody discussing the PSU All-American middle blocker's transfer to Nebraska? This is huge. It's a one-year thing, but we have Bekka Allick coming this fall, and she's a top six recruit. Andi Jackson joins the team in 2023, and Kalynn Meyer is already on the squad. MB will be loaded this year with Hord and hopefully Caffey, but there's also talent in the pipeline once they're gone. This is huge. She is 6-4 and a three-time All-American. Only has one year to play for us though.
Yep, this is an excellent plug and play. She'll be good for the development of the younger players. Kinda reminds me of the Robinson transfer. She just elevated the room with her level of competitive play. It's a one-year thing, but we have Bekka Allick coming this fall, and she's a top six recruit. And I forgot to mention Maggie Mendelson, the 6-foot-5 MB/hoops center who wants to play both sports at Nebraska. She'll be on campus this fall after graduating from high school a year early. She should be ready to be one of the top two MBs in 2023.Yep, this is an excellent plug and play. She'll be good for the development of the younger players. Kinda reminds me of the Robinson transfer. dumb question about 2 sport athletes. If she were to redshirt in volleyball, would she also have to redshirt in basketball to get the extra year? Or do they just get 5 to play 4 in both sportsAnd I forgot to mention Maggie Mendelson, the 6-foot-5 MB/hoops center who wants to play both sports at Nebraska. We're loaded for the future, and possibly for 2022 if Caffey gets that seventh year.
Massive get. Locked and loaded for 2022 !
I expect them to only get better. They edged out Lexi sun down for the better part of the year. Did not see that coming. While it would appear that way, I think there are still some questions on our outside hitters. While the freshmen came in with great fanfare they did not consistently perform at a high enough level that matched the pre-season expectations. Kubik was also somewhat inconsistent.
Huskers were excellent at defense, middle blocker position, and serving but could not overcome OH inconsistency. But, to be honest, they went further than expected last year. FWIW, if they OH improve only a little bit, then anything less than final 4 will be a disappointment.
The freshmen OH were definitely inconsistent during the season, it was like a yo-yo as Cook would sit players and try different combos. But by the end of the season, I thought they were playing pretty damn well - hence the championship game appearance. As highly as they were regarded as recruits, it's not a surprise that true freshman have to adjust to playing at that high of a level every night. While it would appear that way, I think there are still some questions on our outside hitters. Great question. I called the NCAA to ask them, and here's a transcript of the conversation:dumb question about 2 sport athletes. If she were to redshirt in volleyball, would she also have to redshirt in basketball to get the extra year? Or do they just get 5 to play 4 in both sports
I think you accidentally called the tax help lineGreat question. I called the NCAA to ask them, and here's a transcript of the conversation:
Me: "Hello, NCAA. A friend wants to know if a two-sport athlete redshirts in one sport, would she have to redshirt in a second to get the extra year? Or do they just get 5 to play 4 in both sports?"
NCAA: "A stumbling first step shakes beliefs widely held."
Me: "Huh?"
NCAA: "A stumbling first step is f***ing cosmopolitan, having a trained assassin stay overnight, letting heartbreaking lies roll over us like a summer breeze. What about that don't you understand?"
Me: "Uh, all of it."
NCAA: "The flow of quizzes is belief in the interrelatedness of all things. Who's to say that 4 isn't 5 or 8, even?"
Me: "Something's flowing, that's for sure."
NCAA: "Two-finger John is belief in the interrelatedness of all things. And have a blessed day."
Me: "Uh. OK."
I didn't know Deepak Chopra worked for the NCAA now.Great question. I called the NCAA to ask them, and here's a transcript of the conversation:

When one has a winning program you get great players. Great job and credit to John Cook and the team.Nobody discussing the PSU All-American middle blocker's transfer to Nebraska? This is huge. No he didn't if someone actually answered the phone. I called on a Fri morning at 8:05 am ( hrs 8:5) and after being on hold for over 40 minutes I got an automated message saying no one was going to be able to answer my call that day....what's the pointI think you accidentally called the tax help line

Bekka Allick of Waverly is the #1 MB recruit and a member of the youth national team. Giving her a year to get ready watching an All-American is an ideal situation. It's a one-year thing, but we have Bekka Allick coming this fall, and she's a top six recruit. What's up with Waverly becoming a pipeline for Husker volleyball? Allick, #6 national recruit, Whitney Launstein was ranked #16, and throw in walk on Anni Evans who has played an important role.Bekka Allick of Waverly is the #1 MB recruit and a member of the youth national team.
