Perhaps I do! Ha. Chalk it up to my optimism whenever a failed coach is fired and a new guy comes in. I think that is better than automatically being cynical about a new coach's potential success. All that said, I do not remember saying this about Mike Riley. I was, like almost everyone else, scratching my head over that hire. I was indeed optimistic about Pelini and Frost being hired, but so were a ton of others on here. They were both wildly popular hires at the time.

But I do think the optimism this time around is well-founded. Rhule has a proven track record of turning moribund college programs around. He is also connecting with the fan base and Osborne in a way no previous post-Solich coach has. He seems to genuinely love Husker football and the State of Nebraska and it seems he really does want this to be a destination job and knows what it takes to get us back to where we should be.

Time will tell if Rhule turns out to be another bust. But I really am more optimistic about this hire than I was even for the Frost hire.

Wish I could still muster up this level of optimism. I guess the last 20 or so years has made me cynical. Props to you.

Just fyi, makes the summer a lot easier… On the flip side, fall has been a huge disappointment, but summer is pretty much always good. Now let’s make fall good again!

Air Noland is the best qb name ever.
Did his parents (or dad) want to try and make a robo child? I don't know how many people named 'Air' there are, it sounds pretty deliberate.
Remember the qb USC got a number of years back, his dad molded him from day one to be a qb, even to the point of forming his hand in the shape of a football. Todd Marinovich was his name. Ended up getting drug addicted (suprise!!) and not playing football. Works at an art gallery today. He may have had different strengths and preferences than his daddy had.
